They’re also thinking about how UI templates can be created that make it easier for developers to implement new functionality without needing to reinvent the wheel every time. Effort has been spent on recommendations for color use, code structure, and other details that will help addon developers make their contributions feel like a native part of FreeCAD.

As someone who is terrible at 3D CAD tools, but who also designs packaging from time to time, it would be amazing to have a FLOSS alternative to something like Adobe's fantastic fold project. Has anyone seen anything out there that comes close?

I just discovered this hidden gem while sifting through Sourceforge. It's a simple app that's heavily inspired by Cinema4d. And from what I gather it's still being developed.
