Boardgames on the Fediverse!

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Boardgames Magazine on the Fediverse! I'm a Reddit refugee and wanted to start fresh after many issues with the OG /r/boardgames, namely the low effort posts, news and OC being buried by recommendation threads, and overall issues with the same questions being asked over and over. I'd love for this to become a more community oriented subreddit instead of a karma mining machine with pictures of boxes. I'd love to hear people's ideas on how we can make this meaningful for those out there who just want to discuss and talk about their love for board games.

I used to play #rpgs when I was young, late 70s early 80s, but we would also play the occasional #BoardGame. #Talisman was a favourite, #MagicRealm, #CosmicEncounters and others saw some play as well. A few years ago I played #Dungeoneer with a friend, but I've now discovered that there are lots of games that you can play solo, something that will likely suit me. This was incredibly rare back then! I just ordered #ArkhamHorror the card game and #KinfireDelve for some solo fun. #Gaming #boardgames

> For many people, learning the rules of any unfamiliar board game can feel as alien as learning a brand new language. Yet few games make that experience quite as literal as City of Six Moons. Its rulebook arrives written in a mysterious series of symbols that players must translate before they can play the game itself – and may never know if they’ve got everything right.
