We could have had Richard Dean Anderson’s ass. I always forget that the show was originally picked up and produced by Showtime until I rewatch the first season. Which means every one of the original cast signed onto the project knowing at some point they’ll probably be asked to do a nude scene. Maybe RDA had the star power to push it off until the third season, but you know he’d end up doing like tasteful nude, fetal position, ass shot after Jack was captured and tortured by some bad guy.

There has to be a more elegant protocol for a situation like this, right?

A few episodes later... ![](https://files.catbox.moe/xcgm5q.jpg) Were these episodes aired out of order, or is that just something he is known for doing on many occasions?

Yes, this is your standard 'overthinking-stargate' post. But given that the main rival to Jaffa and Goa'uld forces would traditionally be other Jaffa and Goa'uld, the primary (or secondary, second to policing civilians) threat would come from air assault and assorting air-support, given that Ha'tak could land, or bring gliders or both, and Al'kesh could show up independently of Ha'taks and gliders, you'd think that Jaffa would have ample air defenses. But as far as we've seen in the show, they don't. What would complete the setting in that regard? Should they have had some sort of MANPADs? The ring-threading round gliders seem like the obvious choice, but they do not apparently make them as they once did, for some reason.
