Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Please join Scarlet Woman Lodge for a magical, mystical evening of fun! The event is FREE and open to the public. We’ll be hosting a community evening with feasting, fraternity, a silent auction, short talks on our initiatory system, and more! The “three sisters” refer to the Native American tradition of growing corn, beans, and squash together as they help each other grow. Much like our three sisters, Scarlet Woman helps us to grow as well, both individually and as a community. Come see what we celebrate! Date: November 11, 2023 Time: 4:30 to 8:30 PM Place: Suite 304, 1514 Ed Bluestein Blvd, Austin, TX 78721 (Look for the Lime Green Buildings) https://scarletwoman-oto.org/ Love is the law, love under will.

>To Péladan, the point of magic was the creation of the free individual. We are not born individuals, Péladan taught, and our education and upbringing are designed to keep us from achieving individuality. “Society,” he wrote, “is an anonymous enterprise for living a life of secondhand emotions.”

A great interview on the Secret History of Western Esotericism Podcast about new MA programs at Univ. of South Carolina and Exeter (UK) on the History of Magic and Occult Science. These are weird and exciting times.

Robert Anton Wilson had a profound effect on me as a 19 year old. His books introduced me to Korzybski, and I bought a copy of Science and Sanity to read on my lunch breaks, while I was working as a labourer on farms. It got me interested in maths, and I went to university to study electrical engineering (which Bob also studied) so I could understand the maths in the book. A while ago I bought a copy of Trajectories (which can be found on the internet archive https://archive.org/details/chaosbeyondbesto0000wils/mode/2up). I was over joyed to discover that the book contained a personal letter from Bob that was hand signed. I've redacted personal info from it, and although it is a personal letter, I don't think Bob would mind, since he was quite open about his health issues later in his life. I love the use of different calendars, highlighting the arbitrariness of time keeping in different cultures.

>What he did offer was a very RAW examination of some fundamental Crowley concepts. The assigned texts for the course were Crowley’s Book of Lies and also Book of Thoth. Wilson also had recommended texts like The Widow’s Son and various articles, etc.

>You also have many projects that have nothing to do with computer science, such as your musical composition, Fantasia Apocalyptica. You even built your house around a two-story pipe organ. Is this variety also part what makes you happy? I wrote a couple of books, including Things a Computer Scientist Rarely Talks About, that are about theology — things you can’t prove — rather than mathematics or computer science. My life would not be complete if it was all about cut and dried things. The mystical things I don’t understand give me humility. There are things beyond my understanding. >In mathematics, I know when a theorem is correct. I like that. But I wouldn’t have much of a life if everything were doable. This knowledge doesn’t tear me apart. Rather, it ensures I don’t get stuck in a rut.

My knowledge of magick is superficial at best, so I would like to hear what more competent people say. The general question is how (if) magical tools can be practically used to further the cause of anarchist (without adjectives) revolution. The more specific question is, for starters: Does it make sense to view money as a sigil for geas of obedience? And if it does, can we imagine the way to break this bond? Strip money of the power aspect and reduce it to purely technical role of an exchange token?
