> As a web engine, Servo primarily handles everything around scripting and layout. For embedding use cases, the [Tauri](https://tauri.app/) community experimented with [adding a new Servo backend](https://servo.org/blog/2024/01/19/embedding-update/), but Servo can also be used to build a browser. > > We have a reference browser in the form of [servoshell](https://github.com/servo/servo/tree/main/ports/servoshell), which has historically been used as a minimal example and as a test harness for the [Web Platform Tests](https://wpt.servo.org/). Nevertheless, the Servo community has steadily worked towards making it a browser in its own right, starting with [our new browser UI](https://servo.org/blog/2023/09/15/upcoming-events-and-new-browser-ui/) based on [egui](https://www.egui.rs/) last year. > > This year, [@wusyong](https://github.com/wusyong), a member of [Servo TSC](https://servo.org/governance/), created the [Verso](https://github.com/versotile-org/verso) project as a way to explore the features Servo needs to power a robust web browser. In this post, we’ll explain what we tried to achieve, what we found, and what’s next for building a browser using Servo as a web engine.

Linux only (I think), only between desktop clients, and it requires a server. In the short time I've tested it, everything worked.

[https://positive-intentions.com/blog](https://positive-intentions.com/blog) [https://www.reddit.com/r/positive\_intentions/](https://www.reddit.com/r/positive_intentions/) i normally use reddit for what people normally do with a blog. this is because i dont know enough to drive traffic to my site. i recently created a Docusaurus blog for my app and id like to see more traffic go there when i set up ads. the amount of traffic i have right now is barely anything (about 30 per day), compared to the number of "views on reddit". i regurgitated old reddit posts into articles. im not much of a writer and im sure the content can be improved to "flow better". i created some images on my phone... i justify it as "it matches the theme"... its actually the best i can do without using some AI or an actual artist. id like to set up some kind of ads on it when its looks like its in a better state and i can attract traffic. let me know what you think i could/should do to make it better.

Literally jumping up and down with excitement here. All of us at Elastic are. Open source is in my DNA. It is in Elastic DNA. Being able to call Elasticsearch Open Source again is pure joy. > > [LOVE.] The tl;dr is that we will be adding AGPL as another license option next to ELv2 and SSPL in the coming weeks. We never stopped believing and behaving like an open source community after we changed the license. But being able to use the term Open Source, by using AGPL, an OSI approved license, removes any questions, or fud, people might have. > > [Not Like Us] We never stopped believing in Open Source at Elastic. I never stopped believing in Open Source. I’m going on 25 years and counting as a true believer. So why the change 3 years ago? We had issues with AWS and the market confusion their offering was causing. So after trying all the other options we could think of, we changed the license, knowing it would result in a fork of Elasticsearch with a different name and a different trajectory. It’s a long story.
