Hey everyone I’m wanting to switch more to using Peertube but I’m having trouble finding a good instance. The first one I signed up for was Spectra video but it seems to not be federated with the rest of Peertube. I’d like an instance that is so I can see more of what it has to offer any suggestions? I host my own peertube instance and deeply believe in the concept but I have trouble staying off youtube since the content I found so far on pt isnt enough for me. On yt, I mostly watch gamers nexus and gameranx, both for their chill demeanor and dry humour but also high quality editing. On pt I have found TheLinuxProject which is awesome but thats mostly it. Does anyone know high quality general tech/gaming related news channels I could watch? I want to upload some videos to Peertube to share here in Lemmy, but I'm not sure how to find an instance where I can upload them. I don't want to be 'picky' since I know I'm using another person's hardware that costs money to maintain, but the majority of Peertube instances I had found the users can't upload videos at all, or have a ridiculous minimum of like 25 MBs per file... And I had found other instances where the user can upload anything he wants, but how do I know that instance will prevail? I mean I had accounts in multiple Peertube instances that after some time are unreachable, it literally gives you an nginx or 'page not found' error... I know I can host it myself and that's the best option, but I don't have the knowledge or hardware to do it.

I'm looking for one that's for Android and on F-droid

I want to start uploading a handful of retro tech videos, revolving around old media formats and video gaming platforms. For the life of me I can't find an instance that would be a good fit, and has open registration plus uploads enabled. As a last ditch effort, I'd like to ask if anyone else has any leads?

The web interface freezes often for me, so I usually use mpv like `mpv https://spacepub.space/w/7XEaaDCywRALEbT64Q758T`, but it takes around 1-3 minutes for mpv to actually load the video. Is there a way for me to reduce this long wait time?

I have plenty of technical peertubers on TILVids, but I'm interested in finding any fun gaming peertubers if anyone can make any recommendations. I've started posting some myself, but I don't exactly want to watch my own stuff :-D .

I can't reach tilvids.com anymore. What are you supposed to do in such a case?

I was wondering if anyone else was tracking anything about this already, or any other peertube to lemmy integrations, like the embedded video playback from peertube (new feature) or peertube's remote account features (comment using any fediverse account) not working with Lemmy users (at least not me right now). I'll be replacing my content diet with Peertube videos. I'll make a vlog featuring my trip to eventual insanity.

That's right. I almost forgot my favourite Peertube idea to date. I used to write parody lyrics to songs all the time on Mastodon. I figure, why not learn how to make full-blown parody songs?

I've made a tonne of videos showcasing myself playing Minetest and SuperTuxKart, as well as a good variety of other fully libre games. I'll be frank, I'm getting tired and bored of playing libre games. I think it's time I switch over to playing retro games instead. The thing is, I have no idea what I actually want to play. I'm thinking anything at least 25 years or older. I'm already making a series for Pokemon Red, so I can't entertain that idea.

Hi everyone, I recently made a peertube instance and I see the potential! **But** the discoverability is absolutely lackluster. It must be possible somehow to see and sort videos that are out there. If I search for minecraft videos on my instance for example, it obviously shows only the other instances I federate with. But to find new instances I search through joinpeertube.org‘s elasticsearch and get the most unrelated stuff. I was recently asked to submit a pr to framasofts gitlab but the signup/signin is bugged. This is what I mean with stuff needs to be easier. Any ideas?

I'm new at both PeerTube and at Piped/NewPipe frontends. I've always wanted to support PeerTube but every time I browse instances I see very little content and it's especially barren for the type of stuff I like. Not really a tech guy, even though I'm learning some programming my background is that of a Literature teacher that likes gaming (especially indie gaming, but some AAA RPG/JRPG/narrative/strategy gaming is cool too) and video essays about anything that have at least a bit of humanities bend. I've started using Piped to watch YT videos (I don't use NewPipe since I rarely use my phone, more of a desktop guy). I've heard you can watch both YT and PeerTube videos on NewPipe. Can you do the same at Piped? And if so, what would be the best way to find channels with the aforementioned characteristics? Stuff in Spanish is fine too since that's my actual language but I assume there's not much stuff in Spanish in PeerTube and therefore even less quality content and even less quality content that caters to my specific likes. So I foresee it'll mostly be in English like in YouTube.
