Been following this band since their album release. They were hard to find on Spotify if that's your platform of choice, so here's their link: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1ZiVFdUAwVyLbSdESEL1Zb?si=ypdFCYO6T467hUZL7GhcLg

Only a couple post-rock albums for me. But good on GIAA for releasing an album today! Including the others because hey, isn’t the old saying “math rock is just post rock with more Tapping?“ **shikimi** by te' (math) **Embers** by GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT **Mantles** by Layers in Lairs (math, asiwyfa/battles is my reference) **Girlfriends** by Girlfriends (tappy math) **Star Showers On The Euphrates** by *Ancients (so good) **Rosewood** by Kaguu

New single from Polish post-rock band called Tides From Nebula. It's the first single from the upcoming album. Nothing is known about it yet.

Title undersells it. There's an actual festival in the Netherlands this weekend, celebrating Pelagic Records bands. So there are performances by ASIWYFA (playing the entire new album), Oh Hiroshima, The Ocean (playing the entirety of Pelagic) and a ton more. Free livestream, here's Saturday's video.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNKIcVHQ56M. Sunday has The Ocean again, but also Ihsahn. I'm psyched to see Spurv, Briqueville, and EF. Tell your post-rock/post-metal/math-rock friends!

Unsure where I came upon this, but thought I would share. Post rock with some horn, probably would file it under “crescendocore“, reminds me a bit of We Lost The Sea. Takes a bit to get started, but that last track is a monster.

New track, new album and a tour announced! Are you going to any concerts? I am going to the one in Kraków.

More on the crescendo-core end of the spectrum, but really good. The symphonic bits are a delight.

Hey all! It's been 11 years since we released our debut EP An Autumn Evening. That EP was recorded with nothing but a 4 watt Vox combo running through a home-made 4x10 cab, some shitty drum mic pack a friend had, a bedroom, a basement, and a couple guitars. We had no idea what we were doing, and well, they weren't the best sounding recordings. We've re-recorded all of those songs now, with 10 years experience under our belt, and sent them off to Ed Brooks for mastering (Caspian, Russian Circles, Death Cab for Cutie, Pelican, Minus the Bear). We're really happy with how it turned out, and we're looking forward to the full length release in 2024.

Saw Explosions twice in NYC. Couldn't get enough of seeing them perform this live. Is this the most quintessential post-rock song? Maybe. And just like this live recording, the audiences I was with started clapping to early before the song was actually over before the climax. I forgive them.

Looking to put an order in to pre-order the new Explosions in the Sky and pick up Heaven Vol. 1 from Mono. I only have Big Bend and The World is... from Explosions and Under the Pipal by Mono. Also own almost all Mogwai albums. Any rec's for post rock essentials to pick up. Could use more Explosions. I unfortunately don't know too much Maserati. Also saw Grails had a new release coming out and unfamiliar with their work. Thanks

I've stumbled upon this band a while ago but today it came up on my playlist and I wanted to share it. The song that I'm linking is on the heavier side. ## Some facts about the band **PSOTY**(originally known as Pet Slimmers of the Year) is an English post-metal/post-rock band from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The musical group was founded in January 2008, by guitarist and vocalist Scott Gowan, bass guitarist Steve McKenna, and drummer Dale Vinten, who had previously played together in the progressive/post-rock band A Thousand Fires. New album "End" from EitS. Slighty different sound than usual (less crescendo, more texture), but still pretty good IMHO.

I love the band but calling them Post-Rock is a stretch for me. What do you guys think?

Until 2003, Godspeed You! Black Emperor had a cellist, Norsola Johnson, which I think gave them a very unique sound especially in the album linked (Lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven). However, while they do have a violin in the new albums, the sound is quite different. What other bands use cello? This patch of sky is one (and fantastic), but they disbanded in 2019. Gregor Samsa used to have one but they swapped to violin as well (and their style was very different anyway). Three Silver MtZion doesn't have their cellist anymore as well.

Hi there, just going to post a couple of tracks that are randomly playing after listening to Blackshape... hope that's ok?

I don't know if it's only me, but I really like what this band do. And I rarely see them mentioned anywhere. When someone mentions post-rock, it's usually bands like Sigur Ros, God is an astronaut, Mogwai, Mono... Ranges? Barely ever, at least in my social circles. So here you go, try and listen. Maybe you'll like them as I do.

Today I’ve listened to Vespertine by This Will Destroy You for the first time and it’s a magnificent record. Garden - the song I'm linking to - is a 22 minute beast that just melts with beauty. Have a listen!
