Are old clothes safe to use?

Ok something non-Lemmy, non-Reddit related for a change.

I'm visiting a family member and I forgot to bring my swim trunks. There's a closet with my old clothes in here (15-30 yrs), including a pair of trunks that I had literally used just once 15 years ago.

There's no visible damage, insects, critters anywhere in this closet... Is this stuff safe to use? I also want to donate what looks good, so that's another reason for asking.
