House guests tend to complain about my ultra bright floor lamps as if broad daylight at 10:14 isn't miraculous

"They're literally blinding", they say, and when they go to turn them off they discover the buttons that make it redder and less bright. No! Unacceptable! If I see a single shadow I'll be sent into a three day long depression :(
