I'd be interested in getting into Soviet SciFi literature. Does anyone have recommendations for me?

This is a very helpful answer, thank you.
Asking in good faith. Right now China is an emmerging power. It is clearly the better alternative for e.g. African countries right now and is certainly an adventageous power for these countries. China is not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts though. They take the opportunity because it is also a win for them. But what happens once the world power dynamic shifts from the US block towards China? Is China not going to turn into a destructive imperialist country? Even if countries like Russia and China aren't imperialist at the moment, they certainly might be in the future if they are more powerful? So does it make sense to unconditionally support them today? I am asking this because I have heard this argument about China before and I would love to hear you guys debunk it.

That's awesome. I also heard that Belgium is adjusting wages in response to the inflation if I'm not mistaken. I wonder why Belgium is so based compared to its neighbors?
Just had a company event and out of nowhere they all started talking about ma freeze peach and how China is "literally 1984" and how we can see that our main conflicts nowadays are between "evil autocracy" and "democracy with western values where it could never happen that the press is lying". I had to bite my tongue so hard the entire time, which I think they noticed. In the end I just said that I don't want to provoke the inevitable world war 3 even more, which killed the mood hard lol. It's so frustrating to be alone in a group of "intellectuals"... Especially if you need to stay civil to not get fired.
There's big discussions in my country right now whether one should introduce a women's quota for political positions, e.g. requiring at least 50% of the elected politicians to be female. While I'm not that much interested in such a discussion in a bourgeois state, it did make me think about how this would be tackled in a socialist state. China comes to mind, where women in the congress are still a very clear minority. Thoughts?

Cool! I've been learning on and off for about 6 years now (oof has it really been that long) and forever stuck on lower intermediate level... Would love to hear about the experiences of other comrades on here!

Maybe I'm not getting something, but why does China make those threats? Can't they just ignore the provocations from the US? I mean China threatening to take action is exactly what the US wants, right?

Thanks comrade, good answer. No idea why anyone would downvote it.
What would be your marxist analysis on why there are such few women working/studying in fields like math, engineering and computer science?

As someone who hates conflict and arguments with close ones I couldn't deal with my SO having vastly different opinions. Luckily, I found someone that is very open and even joined a communist organisation with me. I guess he was very apolitical when I met him and in that sense he was never that much exposed to anticommunist propaganda which made it easy to convince him.

Haha I think it makes sense, but could you maybe provide an example of what A, B and X could be?
So I was wondering how I can get better at analysing the world through dialectical materialism. I've read a fair share of theory and other comprehensive stuff about dialectics and materialism and I do think I get the core principles. What I think I need is to get some kind of practice to overcome my idealist way of thinking. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, maybe a collection of applied examples, maybe even exercises with solutions? Or you could let me know how you guys got better at thinking in a marxist way. Thanks in advance!
I know people are saying Shanghai is a shitshow because of the local government. But do you think it might have been a bad idea in general to deploy such a harsh policy in the country? (asking in good faith as someone who would not mentally survive such long lockdowns)
According to experts "Not even the Russian people could prevent a regression to a communist or socialist dictatorship." https://www.nau.ch/news/wirtschaft/ukraine-krieg-russland-macht-ruckschritt-zur-sowjetunion-66147383

I also got converted into an ML by GenZedong. I was already drifting away from being a social democrat at the time and started to mostly sympathize with anarchists. I followed some general socialist subreddits and it was actually Reddit that kept notifying me on GenZedong posts. I remember how shocked I was first that there were actually people supporting China l(mao). But then I kept clicking on the recommended posts because they sounded intriguing and slowly got to respect the sub more and more, realizing how much propaganda I've actually been exposed to. So I guess thank you... Reddit push notifications?

That's the best part: it's in Switzerland of all places. By a Chinese artist though
According to the plaque from left to right it's Socrates, Confucius, Lao Zi, Buddha, Jesus and Marx (though must say his hair looks pretty weird).
