This seems pretty straightforward in my eyes. Organic amendments are largely carbon in the first place. So if you add more C that is no surprise you are going to integrate more into the soil.

That is the e horizon which stands for eluvial. Spodosols form in acidic environments and this causes the iron and humus to move down the soil profile as a complex as rain moves through. So the black humus and red iron are removed which gives soil most of its color. What you are left with is the silt and sands that are the pale color you see.

  • I just wanted to post two things. Spodosols are the best soil order and Spodosols are the best soil order. I do not give a damn about productivity, just look at that thing and tell me otherwise.

My old man always gives me a hard time about the size of my fish and the inches I tell him. So I have to put my hand in there as I know it is about 10 inches between my thumb and my pinkie. But I just love catching them, big or small I have a good time so never stress getting a good measure unless it is an absolute beast.

Did he seem any worse for the wear? I have seen one other fish with a weird back deformity similar but the fish seemed healthy.

Top water has been killing it with smallies as of late. Also got a kayak this season and open to tips. I have a drag chain that I need to try out.
