Question, what's the best method of putting the transcription on posts on lemmy? At the top, bottom, does it matter if I bold the "Image Transcription" text?
I fully understand and agree it's important just not sure the best way to use it and I have to start remembering.
Honestly, I don't believe its fair to say "all you can eat" unless its true. Otherwise, you should put some type of detailed limit. But attempts must have been made and probably continue.
An attempt was made to get people to come, I believe there was some miscommunication.
Purpose: To share pro-consumer products and service that truly have the forethought of the consumer first. Such as easy of use/setup, privacy & security, fair pricing and just generally good pro-consumer business practices. Goal: To develop a community that will host a list of products/services that you may be in the market for. Hopefully, it will make the buying decision a little easier and thus promoting actual great things. I am only one person, I don't have a bunch of free time but I will be working on putting together posts when possible. Please feel free to add things here with the rules and this introduction in mind.

I find this mildly infuriating, I only use Windows for work, I even personally purchased Windows 11. Local account and disabled as much as I could. I personally do not like Windows or Windows in general. Well, now I do an update and they throw this up like I need to walk thru these steps (again). Not even a "Skip"/"Don't remind me again". Windows is not what it used to be and after disabling half the Microsoft stuff I'd expect not to be bothered again. Seriously, what's the error rate on these things anyways. It's pretty outrageous these days.
I wanted to see what others are using and recommending. I'm looking at going over to a self-hosted NAS option primarily for backup but ideally to work off of too. I have only about 80GB of backups, only about 5GB are files I often use and access. I want to switch so I have full control over my data but would still plan to make encrypted containers to upload to cloud storage for redundancy. An option that does have some type of automatic sync/backup would be ideal, and it would be setup for local use only. I won't ever have to access it remotely. So far the best I've found would be something like "Synology DS220+". I originally considered setting up a local ubuntu server and use something like sftp for backup but its more time extensive and lacks added features. What's your recommendations? And if anyone knows of software to remove duplicates, it'd save me maybe 20GB of storage. Thanks!
