This is actually the reason English food doesn’t use spices. They became so cheap from their continued exploitation that they lost their status as a luxury.

A friend told me this was rooted in classism. Basically they used to use spices, but when their exploitation flooded the market with cheap spices it became available to the lower class, and that turned the perception into a bad thing.

I just like mushrooms. I like to hunt them, and growing them seems like a cool thing, especially rare verities. I even found what I later learned was a lions mane mushroom in SW Washington. Wish I was still gonna be living here in October so I could go back and collect it.

I had the idea of farming them back in college when I was learning logo design. I’ve got my name and stuff, just never had any place to really do it, but that might be changing as we’re moving in with my MiL for economic reasons.

Right wing populism. It’s been that way since the beginning. The Nazis came to power in the shadow of a great economic collapse. Nazi conspiracy theories about Jews were based on growing discontent between the ruling and working class. The rise of overt fascism in the US has been predicated on the same. Things will get worse. And we must NOT entertain right wing populist talking points just because they appear similar to ours. It is this surface similarity that horseshoe theory is based on, and as we know it is a bullshit theory because of it.

The only problem with Unions is they’re forced to operate under capitalism. My Union is far from perfect, but I’d be far worse off without it.

Tucker Caralson for example has acknowledged global warming, but only in so far as it serves a fascist agenda. He made an argument that immigration is bad because people coming from poorer countries have a lower carbon footprint, and if we accept them here they will have a bigger one.

They ignore the actual causes of ecological collapse in favor of furthering a racist and fascist agenda.
