I'm hoping that Hariette will respond to one of us soon and agree to open-sourcing the project. Thank you everyone in the Artemis community <3

Wait a minute. I also went to UC and I'm from Cleveland. Are you me?

I'm in the portage lakes area, I like it here! Low COL and I have a decently paying WFH job that just makes it better.

I did learn metric in school, did you not? I'm in Ohio, not sure if it's different elsewhere. Typically it was tied to physics and chemistry, but still learned it.

I use both metric and imperial for work. But the issue is changing every single street sign, updating all of our school material, etc would cost the country billions of dollars and it just isn't worth it at this point.

It happened every morning in my school, but we weren't forced. I would routinely just stay seated and not say the pledge, personally.

Hey that's me!

Granted this was 6 years ago, but I met my now fiancée on bumble. It might be worse now, not sure
There are some new features, collapsible comments, magazine sorting, the settings page which has an app icon switcher as well as a couple accessibility options! Hariette is working hard with the other devs to start rolling out to other testers!

Artemis is taking large inspiration from Apollo, while still being unique so it's not an exact clone. The magazine is /m/ArtemisApp!

By the way, alpha testing for Artemis has begun. Granted it's only for kbin at the moment, but there's only a limited amount of testers. Lemmy will be available when open beta rolls around!
Massive shout out to [@lavender](https://kbin.social/u/lavender) for all of their hard work!
Attached: 2 images First milestone in roadmap accomplished! We got a handful of alpha testers using [#ArtemisApp](https://kbin.social/tag/ArtemisApp) 🥳 Next week is ironing it out before we start our incremental rollout to our testers.

I believe it originated on Mastodon. It's the equivalent of a "Retweet" on Twitter. But, kbin has it also, I think the idea was to be used with the Microblogging feature of kbin.
But, honestly, I use it as more of a bookmark on kbin. Whereas on Mastodon I use it as a Retweet.

We were just talking about the contents of the image after posting. We just wanted to show off the features of how a link appears within a post and didn't think about the contents of the screenshot 😅

You can see dark mode screenshots in the pinned post on Hariette's Mastodon!
The rocket button is for boosting.

Dark mode exists! I believe it is just a setting that can be turned on/off.
Hariette is hard at work to create an alpha release that is stable enough to start rolling out. Follow [https://kbin.social/m/ArtemisApp](https://kbin.social/m/ArtemisApp) (!ArtemisApp@kbin.social for you Lemmy users) for more updates and announcements on the app. Hariette is also available at kbin: [@hariette](https://kbin.social/u/@hariette), and Mastodon: [@hariette](https://tech.lgbt/@hariette).
I'm curious about this, I have a server that I used to use for a Minecraft server, but it has been shut off for a while. What would be the downside of hosting your own instance? Maybe it would be automatically defederated from other instances?
The dev, [@hariette](https://kbin.social/u/@hariette), also has a Mastodon profile where she posts updates [https://tech.lgbt/@hariette](https://tech.lgbt/@hariette). There is also a link to the apps discord server in her bio.
