Help me choosing laptop

I am going to buy a InfinityBook Pro 15 - Gen9 - AMD by TUXEDO. A bit over budget for you, but i definitely think it's worth the price (1300€). The company is devoted to supporting Linux and offers a wider range of personalization on your laptop (Keyboard, OS installed etc etc).

Also, worth noting: 5 years of warranty is pretty nice.

EDIT: Framework is very expensive in my opinion. If you are willing to spend 1600€, then have a look at TUXEDO or System76. For that price range you will make more value out of your money.

I mostly pay for the unlimited email alias, the password manager is free by itself.

I was using Bitwarden before, but the unlimited email alias sold me on Proton Pass, and 1$ monthly is nothing for not getting spam anymore.

Thanks for the heads up, I will definitely keep that in mind.

That's strange that they would not help you out.

Are you still using their Proton VPN? How is it? I am with NordVPN, and I have been using it for more than 5 years, and it is crazy fast and so many servers are available.

It is the offer if you subscribed in the first month they launched Proton Pass.

If you want privacy, sadly, you will have to pay. I am currently using Proton Pass (special offer 1$ monthly), you get a good password manager, plus unlimited email aliases.

Proton is also known to be one of the best Email Providers based on good privacy.

Probably 10+ hours on normal usage. (Document Editor, Video Streaming etc) Anything more demanding will cut the battery life for sure.

That model is a beast. I haven't bought it yet, but i am sure i will (Steam Summer Sale) 😂

For what you get 1350€ is nothing, and they also give a 5 year warranty which is nice. The Display is perfect for media consumption, 10+ hours of battery life, the AMD CPU is a beast.

I need a laptop for studying, my current one is heavy and the battery doesn't last much. + I want something that could last at least 5-6 years if not more.

My budget is around that price, because i know i will not replace it any time soon.

Ye, but i don't really game on my laptop anymore (i have one with RTX 2060 6GB), since i play only on my Steam Deck now. At this point the integrated graphic is enough to play some light games, and I'd rather have long battery life than raw power.

Thank you for your answer. Ye, frameworks laptops are pretty expensive. Do you think for the price, the TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 15 - Gen9 - AMD is worthy? I like the screen, and the battery life is also good. The CPU is somewhat pretty powerful and for my daily usage would be more than enough.

The integrated graphic would be only for light gaming which is ok, since i have a Steam Deck.

I was just curious about any feedbacks on the company.

  • How to avoid account lockout when using password vault?
  • Sterben Sterben Now 100%

I forgot to mention it, i use Aliases for everything, even my 2FA has one. This is basically hack proof, because they will never know the true email address (if they get the hand on my alias) where i receive the verification code. 👍

The only way they could steal your data is if they hack in your smartphone, or if you connect to shady Wi-Fi. Stay Safe Boys!

  • How to avoid account lockout when using password vault?
  • Sterben Sterben Now 100%

I use Proton Pass and Ente Authentication (2FA).

I can't access my Proton Mail without my 2FA, additionally I can't even access my 2FA without my email address (verification code is sent to my mail to unlock my 2FA codes + I need the master password). If i lose one of them I am screwed you would say, but it's not the case.

What I did is to write down my Proton Mail Password and its secret code for 2FA + My Ente Authentication credentials (mail + master password). This way I will always be able to access my Proton Mail, even if i lose access to my 2FA app.

This is the worst case scenario, i also have a second phone where i keep Proton Pass and 2FA logged in, so if I lose my main phone, I am not completely locked out.

  • I just received my **Steam Deck OLED 1Tb**; the screen is amazing in relation to the LCD version, however I had a problem with the **D-PAD not working at all**. I did some testing, and the D-PAD was unresponsive in **Gaming Mode, Desktop, and in the BIOS** as well, so I figured something wrong with my hardware. I removed the back panel, and I saw almost instantly that the **cable labeled as "DPAD" was disconnected**(Right side, just beside the left trigger). Reconnected and now everything is working as intended. So for short, if something doesn't work hardware wise, contact support, but it may be worth having a look inside and see if anything is disconnected. Happy Gaming 🎮

As the title says, the latest version of Facebook doesn't allow you to open links in your default browser of choice. I am pretty sure a couple of weeks ago I was able to do that, but in the last couple of days it started opening all links in the in app browser. If you go "Setting & Privacy > Media > Open Links in an external browser" and enable it, Facebook will still use the in app browser for opening links. Anyway to get around this?

Hello, how are you guys? As the title says, what search Ingine are you currently using? I used DuckDuckGo for years, and just recently switched to Brave. Also, what do you think about the Brave Browser? I have been using FireFox since forever. Thank you for reading.

I am rocking an Xiaomi Gaming Laptop (i7 9th, GeForce 2060, 32Gb Ram) with PopOS installed since day one. It is working fine (a bit annoyed because there is no way of finding a new battery for replacement), but I was thinking of switching to something more open source and with Linux officially supported. Anyone here with an Adder WS (or any other System76 laptop)? How do you find yourself with it? Mainly curious about the battery life. Thank you for reading.
