Did not try nmcli, but even when pinging it did not work. Anyways, now I have installed Pop OS and it works, ill probably spin up a new Arch install in a few weeks... Ill see. Thanks!

Haha, funny you say that, I was using BRTFS, but I never bothered to make any snapshot lol. My lazyness caught me. As for the system corruption, I think its pretty unlikely, the PC is running just fine now, and it was running perfectly fine the day before and under Windows in between reboots. The only part that had no network was my arch install

Hi, I wanted to tell you thanks for your help, I decided it would have been too much trouble and just decided to nuke my arch install, I had a separate /home partition so I just installed PopOS as a maybe not so temporary replacement until I do a clean install. I felt my system was a bit too far gone and I didn't really want to spend the rest of the day troubleshooting it. Anyways, thanks a lot for the help !!

Hey, here they are! Nothing too unusual except for IP a, (I suspect this is due to network manager not starting and kicking me out to my login prompt) and everything worked before that update

Hey, I was able to kind of recover my computer and the status is kind of wekrd. It only shows 2 lines and when running systemctl start NetworkManager it simply waits for a few seconds and I get kicked out to my login prompt

    systemctl status NetworkManager

I hope 545 brings GAMMA_LUT support, night light is basically the only thing keeping me away from Wayland at the moment on my desktop. I absolutely love Wayland with my laptop

I can't test anymore since I'll try to get some sleep and I downgraded the kernel and now the computer doesn't boot. So tomorrow when (if) I get it back up, I could try and get that info. But from memory before I broke everything more (I had checked just to be sure), it looked pretty fine to me, no flashing red errors or warnings.

Thanks. I tried that before I saw your comment and I downgraded 2 network related packages (networkmanagwr applet and networkmanager openvpn), but that did not work. I saw the kernel got updated so I downgraded that but now my system doesn't get past the boot screen. I'll try again tomorrow and I'll probably just install vanillaos to still have access to the AUR but on a very stable base and with good defaults. I had tried doing a ping but it just immediately said no host found or something like that. Sorry if I am vague, I don't remember exactly and my computer doesn't start anymore loll

Thanks, do you know what packages names that are not so obvious could be causing this? I downgraded the two Networkmanager entries that appeared but that doesn't seem to help much (network manager applet and networkmanagee-openvpn)

I don't seem to have dhcpcd installed on my system (systemctl status dhcpcd says it is not found). Is this a required package that I managed to live without for a few months by pure luck?

Yeah the swipe and multi-lingual input is the only thing keeping me on GBoard. I would love to not have all my keyboard interractions be recorded but... yeah these features are just too good to pass on

Yeah, DarkSky was shut down officially last march I think, but last year at wwdc they announced weatherkit as a replacement. Though I am not sure if weatherikt is a 100% match or if it is better or worse than darksky. I want to assume its the same or better but its apple so we never know...

IIRC Weawow has Apple weather as a provider, which is basically a rebranded Dark Sky (check out Apple's weatherkit for more info about this rebrand thing)

I really like Weather Today since it has Apple's weatherkit data, which is basically Dark Sky. It also has a really nice radar view and a per minute rain forecast. There is also Shadow Weather which has this support, but I find the UI to be less appealing.
