What were your shot parameters (coffee in/out) if you recall? I wonder if some of the lemon acidity could be reduced by increasing extraction with higher temp or finer grind? That said, I'm with you on Blue Bottle. I'm in NYC and their coffee seems underwhelming and overpriced even by local standards.

Interesting. I support their right to make that decision and I'm glad that's an option in the Fediverse. I'm not sure I'd want to see that change happening if I were a member of their instance (I haven't spent enough time there to have an informed opinion about the alleged problems they cite in the post), but I suppose the strength of federation is that users can choose to move to another instance without necessarily losing access to Beehaw's content. I wonder how this will play out among their userbase?

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I developed the film and made the print myself. I really enjoy doing the whole process start to finish because I find it very meditative, and it allows for a lot of creative freedom.

Hello photography community! I've created [The Darkroom magazine](https://kbin.social/m/darkroom) as a space for discussions about development, printing, darkroom techniques, and analog photo critique. If you're interested in helping it get off the ground, please subscribe to the magazine and feel free to cross-post your darkroom or analog photography content there. Thanks!

I'm still having problems with this, for example right now with photography@lemmy.world and analog@lemmy.ml.

I wonder if searching for the first time causes the sites to federate, but there is a delay so they don't show up immediately?

@dannekrose Thank you for the detailed reply, and that definitely gives me a better big-picture understanding.

I think I know enough now to be able to refine my question a bit. It sounds like a kbin Article is different than a kbin Post in that it has a different ActivityPub type and is displayed in different tabs of the kbin UI (Article in Threads, and Post in Microblog).

But what about from a poster's perspective? Say for example I'm posting a text-only question. Why would I want to choose to create a Post vs. an Article or vice versa? I'm sure I'm missing something, but they both seem to have the same basic features even though they have a different UI.

@dannekrose Could you expand on the difference between threads and microblog posts (are these what are referred to just as "posts"?)? I think my confusion comes from the fact that I see, in this magazine, for example, plain text posts in both the thread and microblog section, so I'm not sure what the difference is.
