I saw the movie yesterday, prompted after this post, and the beach scene where he desperately tries to summon some sort of normalcy, in an attempt to exorcize or rationalize what happened, but ends up in frustration and anger whilst literally dragging the kids around, is one of the most tragic and comedic at the same time, scenes I've ever seen.
