ah ok, got it to work with manual imports now, but I think maybe this doesn't really suit my use case. big thanks for explaining the readarr stuff! I can see why people would like it if they use the grabbing parts of it as well.

I think mostly I didnt see any options for setting up the download folder, just different download options (like torrent and usenet etc).

So OpenAudible kinda gives me the information I need in the metadata, so I ended up making a simple python script that copies them around based on that.

I'm not getting how to set it up without the download functionality, how do i tell it to just reorganize a folder into another folder?

It does seem a bit like overkill :D I might try it, but otherwise I might try to figure something out myself at some point. Sounds like a nice hobby project.

  • So thanks to this community, I have found the wonders of Audiobookshelf! Seems very promosing so far, but my main gripe is with my folder structure. I am therefore wondering if there is any media sorter tools out there? I'm thinking something along the lines of https://github.com/jpillora/media-sort (for plex) that I can use to sort the files into a supported folder structure for ABS, but even better would be if it also had a metadata agent that created an .obf file with common information. If anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated, even if it's some script that someone uses for own personal use that they wouldn't mind sharing, I'm not closed to doing some coding work myself in order to get this right.

In @nerdias comment in this thread about setting up plex for audiobooks, there is also a section with a link about de-drm’ing your audible books.

I havent troed it out myself, just stumbled upon it while checking out the thread, but I thought I’d point it out.

I guess this will come sort itself out in the long run (like what format to have when talking about other users), but for now i didn’t want there to be any confusion of it being a community rather than a user, and since you can just register the same username on different instances that also kinda felt lazy not to include.

Agree that it does look a bit verbose, though

Love the app so far! Look and feel is great, and I can only imagine how much time you’re putting into the development with the gap between new builds! I was wondering if it would be possible to set the default comment sorting, kind of like how the default post sorting works now. I generally like having comments sorted by top, and now it seems to be chronologically. Keep up the good work!

First of all I just want to say that the app is great already! It feels much more complete than the other iOS apps i tried, and already updated once on my limited time on the testflight version. One thing I would like is to not load all subscribed feeds for all my accounts by default. I have different accounts on different instances for different… profiles, of type of content, so to speak. Would be great if switching between the accounts changed the subscribed-feed to only include that account. Not sure if this is something that falls in line with the vision of the app, but I thought I’d bring it up. (Also, would be great if my sorting comments by top could be set as default in settings or similar, rather than sorting chronologically)
