Today I learned Deadjournal exists
This weekend there is a planned "MAGA Boat Parade" across Lake St. Clair to celebrate Donald Trump's birthday. Some local Libertarians, in honor of nominating the gayest presidential candidate in American history, want to give them a nice friendly Detroit welcome with Chase Oliver's Big Gay Boat Ride. Would you like to help out? Do you have a boat(s) that would like to host such a big gay ride? Can you help out with: 1. Rainbow Flags and Decorations: Adorn the boat with rainbow flags and other LGBTQ+ symbols to make it stand out and convey a message of pride and inclusion. A good over view on recent organizing failure. It all sounds easy stuff we learned in OT101 but it's so easy to fall for something shiny.
If you are old enough to remember CM Punk's hey day you probably remember his "controversial" LiveJournal back when Social Media was new and people where still figuring out how to be themselves and be professional online. In 2002 LiveJournal was THE PLACE TO BE on the internet. What many people may not know is that LIVE JOURNAL STILL EXISTS. And in fact in the part of the world that Cyrillic languages (mostly former USSR) are common practice it is still the largest daily accessed user created content site. In Russia proper I think it is surpassed by OK (Russian YouTube) & Vk (Russian Facebook) but I digress. If you had a LiveJouranl account you can still login and start up again, or be crazy and like me and sign up for the first time in the 2020s from a Latin language country. Anyway, I said that to say this. If CM Punk ever wanted to get my respect, not that its worth much of anything, and get me to stop booing "the best in the world" logging into to LiveJournal and just start posting like its 2002 again, that would be how to do it. Otherwise F*** CM Punk.

If one where to think that Trump where the lesser of two evils would you discourage them from voting Libertarian?
For most people a vote for Trump or Biden is actually a wasted vote. Most states are solidly Blue or Red so voting R/D won't change anything. It is far more likely that your single vote for a new Party's candidate will get them over the threshold to maintain ballot access for the following election cycle, than your vote for an old Party's candidate will get them over the threshold to receive the plurality of the vote. Maintaining ballot access for new parties allows them to spend more money the next time actually getting out their message and building votes rather than having to spend most of it paying petitioners to get back on the ballot again. Eventually this could lead to a more representative multi-party system in the USA. But treating every election as "the most important election of our lifetime" and refusing to vote for a candidate that more closely represents your values rather than the one more likely to beat the candidate you dislike most, purpurates the system of abuse. Its like a person returning to their previous partner that verbally abuses them because they fear their partner that physically abuses them.

“Tax the rich” is an all too common refrain on the left which, thanks to left unity, has even been echoed by many self-proclaimed anarchists. “Taxation is theft” on the other hand is a slogan many anarchists are hesitant to repeat due to its association with right-libertarians despite it being far more consistent with anarchist ideals. When taxation is the main funding source for the military police state with only crumbs going towards an extremely inadequate welfare plantation system, why would anarchists want any more funding to go towards that no matter who’s fronting the bill?

The total of 6,822,875 fans in 1,152 games represented an increase of 5.0 percent over last season. The previous attendance record of 6,693,526 was established in 2015-16. What is there to be excited about. Even with India's massive multi-party system, there still is not one party that is anti-nationalist. When I lived in the US nearly half of my neighbors were anti-nationalist and proud of it. I cam to believe they were right that nationalism is a disease that must be irradiated from this planet as it does nothing but divide people and create sense of superiority in ones "own people".
Clearly Modi needs to be defeated, but its difficult to see how that is going to happen, and the option(s) to replace him with aren't a lot better.

"There are more people working than ever before" that is exactly what economists mean when they say there is a labor shortage, there are not many unemployed people. Higher wages alone won't change that. It mostly just shifts around who is employed by whom. To actually build a larger work force you need not only higher wages, but making it easier for those who don't work to do so like young people and those currently residing in other countries.

The sad part about this is there are like 50 years of back content so the boss has a lot less at stake than the workers.
Several globally recognized media outlets have reported this week that based on the U.S. release of the 2024 Adherence to and Compliance with Arms Control, Nonproliferation, and Disarmament Agreements and Commitments there is proof that North Korea has bioweapons that they didn't have before. I tracked down the actual report, which none of the news sources I saw actually linked to, but I still have no clue how they determined this and if its accurate or not. What do you think?

Dang, we had barn cats as a kid, and then dad let one inside, and then more, but they would demand to go outside regularly so my parents let them, but the prettiest one, a calico, was always so proud of her catches, she'd leave them on the welcome mat like a present. Sometimes the whole bird, somtimes just like the feet left, she must have been hungry those days.
