I'll be sure to take some photos mid process for next time!
Just loaded up this modified Missouri Meerschaum General for the first time, which I turned into a stubby nosewarmer. Going to work on the buffing a bit more and I'm waiting on a Vermont Freehand stem that will make this even shorter, but it's good to go for a spin now. Smoking some Accountant's Mixture.

I prefer the airflow of a pipe absent the filter. An open airflow, like a 9mm filtered pipe with the filer absent, comes across as cooler and more flavorful to me, which is what I'm looking for.

That looks like a great smoke. What was your process, if you don't mind me asking?
Has anybody else here ever modded a corncob pipe? Just finished this Missouri Meerschaum General modification; I created a contrast stain by applying dye, sanding, and repeating several times. I then gave it two coats of shellac and buffed it with carnuba wax. I also shortened (albeit only slightly) the bowl and the wood stem before applying a silver ferrule and a forever stem. The inaugural smoke is going to be C&D Pegasus.
