Nice, I used "I don't care about cookies" for a while which just accepted or hid the pop-up and then blocked tracking locally. They got bought out by some corpo tho so I stopped using them.

Honestly germans seem to love to dunk on their own infrastructure. Pedestrian, bicycle and public transport infrastructure truly is on another level compared to the US. Why this is the case? I believe its because cities where already in place when the car was invented. In the US they were built for the car as a mode of transport when European cities where built in a way that was a lot more pedestrian friendly.
While the punctuality of DB (German railway operator is a mess) local regional trains can be pretty consistent and overall cities have a well built out priority, since we had to accommodate for so many peoples transport withoutbeingg able to built them as car friendly since the urban centers where already built. while the funding somewhat lacks today, this made public transport also an important thing people look out for.
Bicycle infrastructure can also be hit or miss depending in the region, but generally it is also on the radar of planners and there's plenty of routes, although they're nothing like the Netherlands.
Germans also really like shitting on their own country and being really critical which comes with its own upsides and downsides. For rural areas the car is definitely really important for getting around tho

This is a sad but hilarious read at the same time. Ml just digging their own grave to irrelevance. Also, what banning argument is "horseshoe theory". They say it like its a completely invalid disgusting thing. They might just not wanna be associated with the right but the autocratic tendencies are the same!

They banned me recently since I was writing a comment talking about how many "memes" on !memes@lemmy.ml are oftentimes not even memes and just unfunny pushing communist agenda and how I was thinking about blocking the instance. It got a bit too many upvotes from them and I ended up getting banned. So in response I made this meme and posted it to !linuxmemes@lemmy.world

Let me give you one example: Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia. He gave the company away to a non-profit 2022 making him no longer a billionaire. Patagonia gives 1% of its total sales to environmental groups and he started the company himself by selling hand-forged mountain climbing gear. Just because people don't make the negative headlines doesn't mean generalizing is a good idea, even if such high positions are more likely to have people with sociopathic tendencies as ruthlessness in business is often rewarded.

That's actually a cool thing. Never knew this existed. My comment was definitely a bit salty looking back. It's just I didn't find any humor in the post and found this type of post to appear often. Good to know tho, I'll look into it since I'm curious what other type of comments they ban. Still bigotry is a weird claim, since they can't seem to tolerate my opinion. Although that brings up the whole tolerating intolerance topic. I don't think I was being intolerant personally. I just didn't find the satire in the meme.

Then also every artist creating loli porn would have to be jailed for child pornography.
For more context: I already had the communism and lefty communites blocked. I'd consider myself middle-left of the political spectrum but personally don't believe in some grand revolution saving us all. Most left communities on here seem to far out there for my personal taste at least. My comment is deleted but if you wanna see the post [here's the link](https://feddit.org/post/2205552/1611495).
