Hi everyone, I’d just like to drop a quick note to say !finalfantasyxiv@lemmy.world moderation has been handed over to myself. The previous mods have been removed. This isn’t due to any specific mismanagement or anything else, but because they were no longer active on Lemmy. I’m also the moderator at !finalfantasy@lemmy.world, so I’m very embedded in the Final Fantasy community at Lemmy and hope I can serve this community well. Few highlights that I found interesting: - Alliance Raid is coming in the first patch. > “In patch 7.1, we will be having the [FF11 crossover] alliance raid Echoes of Vana’diel, and we are also creating a 24-person savage which is shaping up to be really good.” - They built it with expected wipes in mind. > “When a player goes through on their first playthrough they will probably wipe three times – this was what we felt was a good line to draw.” - “24-man Savage” will be different content from normal. > “On the other hand, the 24-person savage – this is going to be a completely different boss. So it is going to be completely different content”

And with regards to the two dye channel system, we still haven't updated all of our previous assets for the system, so we are working on that, and we should be able to finish all of the existing assets by patch 7.3. Lastnight the game came under DDOS attack yet again. I’ve not been able to log in this morning to see if this has been resolved yet but they’ve not reported the recovery on The Lodestone so I’m assuming it’s still ongoing.

Reading through [her credits](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atsuko_Tanaka_(voice_actress)), wow did she voice a lot. The biggest one for me personally is probably Bayonetta. Would have never guessed that the same woman also voices Merlwyb. o7

This is largely a silly post, but I'm curious if anyone has any fun conspiracy theories. Like why does Tataru need that knife on her belt? Is it because she's got some NEFARIOUS dealings going on to get all that money? More so, I just wanted to see if anyone else believes that the Random Mount button isn't fully "random." I swear I see the same handful of mounts summoned more than others. If I see the Manacutter or Yol summoned ONE MORE TIME, I swear...

I have been playing for about a month, and this game is amazing. There is so much content! That's it. This game is dope.

It’s now been about a month (somehow) since Dawntrail launched, so I assume most of us have finished the MSQ, and I’m curious about your thoughts! For me, I actually really enjoyed _not_ being the center of attention the whole time. It was a nice palette cleanser from the last ten years. It was fun to tag along see this whole new continent. Of course, things do end up getting more serious than that, and I was impressed they were able to get me to care about all these new people so quickly. The new dungeons and group content all felt good. I liked that none of it seemed to be pushovers, and myself and my friends died several times figuring out the various boss battles — which is a good thing! I just finished the story last night so I’m now at the point where there are some new quests which I assume will open up some new content. So I have no opinion there yet. But what about you all?

I’m about halfway through the story at this point, but I’ve really been enjoying these new starting zones. Something that I never really did with the previous expansions is try and do a lot of side quests as I go. It’s been fun to learn more about these new characters and their cultures.

Some information about upcoming job adjustment. In particular interesting is that they listened to the specific request of adding artificial emnity to the now-damage-less gapclosers of GNB and DRK, and that they are once again wasting the chance of giving Astro an actual mobility tool in favor of further baking Lightspeed into the 2m-burst. Sigh.

They're going to fix the lighting in the character creator that makes the new models look worse than ingame. Also working on the remaining textures and all, so things are more comparable to how it'll be in the final product.

Hey peeps, let me preempt this by saying IM DISABLED. OK let me explain, I enjoy playing ff14 but unfortunately I have arthritis and carpal tunnel which makes it painful to stretch my hands too much to press all the buttons necessary. When I played wow I was able to get by with the use of their extensive macro communities and add-ons. Unfortunately the same communities and add-ons don't really exist and the community seems to be by in large unintentionally ableist, at least by my research. All I see is variations of 'don't use macros because you'll lose .5 seconds and suck!'. I don't play hardcore endgame content not do I have any intention to play it with random. I mostly play with friends and they don't care if I use macros or not, they understand my situation and just want me to have fun. But here I am asking for help with macro creation and possibly class choice. I'm currently playing a summoner as they don't seem to be very hard and I can macro a couple of things together to ease my pain. What tank and healer class would be the easiest to play for someone like me and possibly what macros could they use to give me a hand? For summoners, is there a way to macro the summons with gemshine? Plus add a modifier in there for aoe. That way I can trim down 5 buttons to 3. I know it was possible in wow but as I understand it ff14 has a limited macro system on purpose. I hope some of you understand my situation and spare me the criticism. Most of the ff community has been lovely and understanding, I just get the rabid folk when I mention combat macros.

It's out! Interesting details: * We have a better ambient occlusion option now. * DLSS/FSR is available. * Character lighting is smoother, eyes are better, mouth animation is amazing, hair looks better. Sadly difficult to see in the character generation due to the lighting but if you let the benchmark play with it, it becomes rather obvious. * When selecting voices for a character, you can now also select which type of emote you want to hear as an example.
