Back on reddit, I mostly interacted with communities relating to JRPGs. There are some communities over here, but at most they post some trailers every now and then. There are also some more focussd communities about Dragon Quest, Xenoblade or SMT - all of them practically dead. I don't think there is an instance.

I could go over to a programming related one, the german instance or even one of the vegan instances for secondary 'interests', but those aren't things I often find myself posting about online to be honest. They seem to be mostly about memes anyways.

Yep, there's both a normal and a hard mode - normal is quite easy. On top of that, you can get most digimon without much trouble, I just happen to like the ones that are difficult to get.

There's also a farm feature where you can level digimon passively. Due to a bug on the switch version, the ingame clock and therefore the farm continue running on standby if you don't close the game properly.

My partner and I are playing through "Digimon Stories Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memories" in some kind of challange run similar to a Soullink in Pokemon games.

The Digimon Story games are basically just grinding, but sometimes I'm in the mood for that. Although, I prefered the older ones on DS.

Digimon have 7 different stages and many different paths to evolve from their first stage to their last one. Bacially everything can become everything. Each stage starts at level 1 and is stronger than the one before, with certain stat and level requirements to evolve. They can devolve too and that's where the grinding comes in: There is a special stat called 'ABI' that's raised by d-/evolving. If you need a certain amount of ABI, you will train your digimon, evolve it, devolve it right away and start from level 1 again. Repeat until you have enough.

During older games, you would accumulate power by doing so - you kept a certain percentage of your current stats when devolving. In the Cyber Sleuth games you don't. Each Greymon e.g. has the same base stats at the same level. ABI only slightly increases a hard cap for permanent stats you can get from a different mechanic. It's kinda tedious.

  • What do you think of Uncle Roger, the comedy and food reviews he does ?

From what I've seen he only gets up tight about food not being prepared traditionally. And like, I don't care. As long as I like the taste, I don't care whether or not it's accurate.

Half my favorite foods are versions that would probably be considered war crimes in their country of origin - at least by snobs.

It's quite easy, actually. I usually play everything years after release, however, if I'm really into a certain series, I'll buy it right away. If I don't care for the wait, I probably don't care enough about whether or not a sequel is being made.

Of course that only works if you don't get hyped easily. I play a lot of games, but usually only 1-2 per year are released within said year.

Unfortunately, there is no instance matching my interests. There are a number of communities across different instances, but it seems like several people tried to make their own, didn't interact with each other and all of them are long dead.

Once I find such an instance, I'll switch over. I've been meaning to leave .world anyways.

While I do agree with the problems identified, I can't help but think they also made forums a lot better. Due to the lower discoverability and higher effort to actually join communities felt more personal. You interacted with smaller groups and came to know specific people. I still have friends from back then.

On larger platforms, I never had that. Even lemmy, which is small in comparison has enough people that I barely even think about specific users. Let alone speak with them on a personal level.

  • How do folks here handle the feeling that they're just waiting, not serving a purpose, and being a burden on their family as well.

Now, I can't give you actual advice, if this is something that's constantly bothering you, you might want to speak to a therapist. What I can offer is my perspective - however, you might want to know beforehand that I'm not chronically ill. I had medical issues which weighed on me quite a bit, but those turned out to be resolvable after about 2 years.

I don't think live has any grand purpose and you'll never be content if you try to chase one either. There is no point in waiting for something that may never come. The best thing you can do is to find things you enjoy and maximize whatever you can get out of live. Try lots of different things within your means, visit places and meet new people. The worst thing you can do, from personal experience, is to repeat the same things every day. Your days blur together and there is no meaning to be found in them.

While his majesty the king is dining with the finest spices, public services break asunder under his ruinous savings. He won't even pay for a proper executioner anymore, he got replaced by a maschine any fool could handle!

Both are made up of four nucleotide bases to encode information. DNA has adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C), and guanine (G). RNA is mostly the same but has uracil (U) instead of thymine.

For the sake of adding something new, X is pareto optimal in terms of having both the best and the fewest games.

    • Xenogears
    • Xenosaga (maybe, haven't played it yet)
    • Xenoblade anything
    • X-COM anything

I'd probably be content with only playing games from the Xeno- meta-series alone.

Despite loving the genre overall, I bounced off KoA multiple times. Maybe it's time to give it yet another go. I just wasn't in the mood for MMORPGs - which the IP should have become iirc -, I guess.

  • Greetings! I'm fairly new to Master Duel and didn't play much Yu-Gi-Oh! in general for the past decade - you could say I'm a complete amateur. Now, I've done most of the solo mode stuff to get to know some more archetypes and played the current Theme Chronicles event to the point where I got all obtainable gems with the vendread loaner deck. Luckily, the loaner was actually quite good, so I didn't need to build a deck. (Got all gems with a 22:8 win ratio.) After all of this, I want to dive into ranked. For the solo mode stuff I've used an Endymion deck, which seems to be rouge at best - and I've only got the bare basics for the deck anyway (pretty much no extra deck). But now I have no clue which deck to go for. I don't know shit about the meta game and even less about the longterm viability of decks, as I don't want to spend all my ressources on building a deck that will banned soon anyway (like, Baronne seems like something that will be banned soon). Or worse, something that is simply unfun to play. I don't particually enjoy stun decks and I'm not into all or nothing combo decks ending on a board full of generic boss monsters (looking at the new superheavy stuff). Is there something viable to start building, ideally with a low power version to test the strategy, before commiting to pulling/crafting all cards needed? (like, Mannadium would take all my ressources and it's gamble if I'd like it)

I'm just starting out with Godot and I've run into some strange or unwanted behaviors. Maybe some of you can help me fix them. I'm currently running Godot on arch linux with x11/i3 as my desktop environment. 1.) Godot got some really aggressive focus. The editor grabs the focus mid typing in other applications and suddenly I'm tying there. With i3 being a tiling manager, Godot is sometimes passively resized when I resize another window - of course it also immediately gets itself focused and messed the resizing up. 2.) The focus within Godot is even stranger. I can ctrl c + ctrl v nodes just fine on a freshly opened project. But once I've a clicked a single property in the import or inspector docker, ctrl c + ctrl v will work exclusively there. Even if the import docker is hidden underneath the scene docker where I'm clicking the nodes I want to copy/paste. 3.) The last one is about using an external editor. Whenever Godot encounters a bug, it will automatically open the script in question. Which is annoying because I use vim for everything and will throw warnings at me, that the file has been changed. I've looked through all editor settings and tried setting vim as my external editor but the behavior persists.
