He claimed that Taiwan was a country, which it is clearly not.
He literally did not. He merely said its name, which should be very standard.

If a popular Chinese actor were to insinuate that Scotland was an independent country, would that not be offensive to the people of the UK?
LOL. No. The people in the UK aren't that fragile, and Scotland and Ireland are referred to by their names by default. Everyone says "Scotland" and "Ireland", and they're semi-independent and have their own free governments. Everyone is okay with it. Everyone can say Alaska and Quebec. And for the record, John Cena didn't infer that Taiwan was an independent country, he merely referred to it by its name, but of course you wouldn't bother fact checking that.

Sure mate. Care to share those offensive comments he supposedly said?

which libs thought was absolutely fucking hilarious for whatever reason.
Yeah I mean there's nothing hilarious about an actor publicly apologizing and kissing China's ass for several minutes while speaking mandarin to connect with the Chinese fanbase because he said "Taiwan" that one time. Definitely not news-worthy that such a popular actor would have to stoop so low because a powerful government throws a fit whenever people talk about its politics...
The fact that people in this community are ignorant about it really says a lot.

Yeah news just came in he will resign this fall and (from what I understand) will be replaced by someone else within the same party until the next elections. Rival parties are trying to force a snap election to avoid this but we'll see how it goes.

Crypt of the Necrodancer, Dead Cells, The Enchanted Cave 2, Slay the Spire, Terraria, and Eternium all sound up your alley
Though it's not an RPG, I also reaaaally recommend Fancy Pants Adventures. Probably my favorite mobile game of all time.

The TL;DR of why this happened is there was expected to be a vote of no confidence against him. People of the UK were going to make him go through hell and trials and such and he was expected to leave anyways, so he resigned preemptively.
This is a win for the people though, it's good he knew he was going to lose anyways and not have us do the song and dance. What happens now though is a little worrying, the sudden resignation of him and 50+ people in the government means it's a little confusing who's going to rule now.
This project recently released, which allows local translation of languages in your web browser. It works surprisingly well! The only issue is that it doesn't work with all languages.

Have you tried running it through Lutris? I'm pretty sure there's an install script for it that works well.
Announcements of interest: * Nier Automata: GOTY edition announced, launching October 6 * Persona series (3 Portable, 4 Golden, 5 Royale) announced for Switch! * Return to Monkey Island gameplay trailer * Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope releasing October 20 * Pac Man World remake announced * Portal collection releasing TODAY Overall, pretty good direct. I don't own a Switch but it sounds perfect to play the persona series on.

It was on life support for a long time, and it doesn't make sense to have Atom around considering VS Code is almost exactly the same thing but better and faster. If you really loved Atom there are themes that make VSCode look almost exactly the same.

Sensationalized BS. Most muslims are heavily against China and I can't tell you how many of them I know have changed their facebook profile pic to #freeuyghurs or something similar when news broke out.
The title makes it sound like islamic countries and muslims as a whole are plotting against them despite literally mentioning that Turkey, an islamic country, has welcomed and protected them. Then the article goes on to say that reportedly Turkey could send them back to Beijing. Maybe.
Pakistan and Tajikistan hardly represent the "Islamic world".

Modern AI as it stands is only as sentient/smart as the dataset it's given, and it's just trying to replicate that. If I talk about liking cereal a lot in my dataset, the AI would say they like cereal. This isn't sentience, it doesn't fundementally understand what cereal even is, it's just trying its hardest to act like what it learned.
I'm sentient because I learned naturally through my life and based my learning through experience, not because I looked at a dataset and tried to act human. So no, there's no way Google's chatbot is sentient. It doesn't even understand anything outside the context of a chat, and there's no intent out critical thinking going into what it says. It just looks at the data it has and chooses the most logical thing to say at the moment. No reason to even consider I'm talking to a real thing that has emotions.
And to answer your question, if there's a 1:1 virtual copy of me that still wouldn't be me. It'd be an AI that looks at my memories and experiences and tries to act like me based on what it knows. I could make a million copies of it, pause and play it as I want and it wouldn't tell the difference.

Follow the simple flowchart:
Does it work without Blockchain? If yes, you shouldn't use Blockchain.
If no, then you still shouldn't use Blockchain because it sounds like you're about to create something really stupid that the world doesn't need.
This game looks so weird but pretty fun. It's like Remnant: From the Ashes + Call of Juarez. Looking forward to it.

Wooooo! Kinda sucks that we have to wait for exclusivity again though. At least we know the game is actually coming out soon-ish!

The Verge fails to mention the main driving force for this decision: Photopea. Someone made a perfectly working photoshop clone that's good enough for 99% of people. It exploded in popularity a while ago, and they announced Photoshop online shortly after. They don't want to lose relevance.

I've been considering switching from Unity to Godot for the longest time but maaaan I've been waiting for 4.0 to be stable for ages. I know it's a massive effort and it looks wonderful, but it looks like 4.0 releasing might happen 3 years later :P
I have been looking for a decent whiteboard app for ages and I've finally found it. Smooth, simple, and very polished. Who knew Godot would be a good tool to make cross platform apps?
Third person mode & DLCs announced
So Sony is trying to create a PlayStation version of Xbox Game Pass. Pay a subscription to get instant access to hundreds of games, including many first-party titles like Ghosts of Tsushima and God of War. Bunch of third party titles as well, seems like quite a good deal for PS+ users.
Persona 3, 4, and 5 Royale coming to PC and Xbox! Lets freaking go!
It's Don't Starve + Binding of Isaac. Looks lovely!
Aside from better graphics, this version of The Last of Us will feature new combat and enemy AI.
Finally some good fucking food. Apparently production moved from Wit to Mappa. Seems to be a trend recently, they also gave Attack on Titan to Mappa a few years ago.
While E3 itself is dead, we're still in "E3 season" where there are a lot of game shows coming up to showcase everything releasing later this year and beyond. I'm excited. What are you hoping to see this month?
First post here. Just wanted to remind everyone that Silksong will never come out. In all seriousness we might see the game in summer game fest after tomorrow. Get hyped.
Simply put, the mod allows you to play with friends throughout the entirety of the game with no restrictions. With this, it's theoretically possible to play the game from the tutorial up to the final boss completely in one co-op session. * If a player dies, they will respawn in the same world at the last bonfire they rested at. The session will not be terminated. * Defeating enemy bosses and clearing areas no longer sends co-operators home. * All fog walls/barriers that usually restrict the multiplayer zone (along with their respective teleports) are gone. * All players can use torrent (assuming they have the whistle) in a session together. * All map waypoints will synchronise, allowing you to navigate the world in a group easier. * When one player rests at a Site of Grace, the world state will reset for all players. This is necessary to prevent enemy desync. * Game progression events completed in online play will also progress the game in your own world.

The TLDR of this is that Playstation announced a gamepass-esque subscription service for their platforms. Pretty big news for people who use PS consoles! # Tiers ## Playstation Plus Essential ($60 yearly) The regular PS+ subscription as it is today. Play multiplayer, receive exclusive discounts and 2 free games per month for your system. ## Playstation Plus Extra ($100 yearly) Everything essential has plus a catalog of "up to 400 of the most enjoyable PS4 and PS5 games – including blockbuster hits from our PlayStation Studios catalog and third-party partners" available to download and play. They've yet to say what the ~400 games are, but they did give a few examples: Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal. Quite a good deal if you're *already* paying for Plus, shelling out an extra 40 for a ton of games might be worthwhile. ## Playstation Plus Premium ($120 yearly) Everything Extra has plus another ~340 games including games that are available to stream online such as ps3, ps2, ps1, and psp games. Essentially this is a replacement of PS Now, and current PS Now users will still be able to access cloud games through this service. Seems a little weird to make cloud games the highest tier but I guess they know most people are uninterested in it anyways.
Add it to the ever-growing list of AAA games that get delayed because guys in suits overestimate how quick a game gets made
