UPDATE The bot has been unbanned and is posting again! Cheers everyone!

Thank you! The bot will be the main poster of this sub, as manual entries will be rather difficult with timing of deals. There shouldn't be many human posts. Thank you for the swift-reversal! :)
Hey all, I've been pretty absent from this community over the summer. Life got a hold of me and I've been pretty busy. In my absence, a bot was made by @Poutinetown that was wonderful and able to post deals which is what I had originally hoped could be done for this community. I've made @Poutinetown a mod so that if I go absent again (I will try not to), at least someone can attempt to keep things going. I have also reached out to a couple of the admins of this instance in hopes of getting the bot unbanned, since without it, it is a rather quiet community and who REALLY wants to manually post deals? Let's hope that this can be resolved!

So I've been a little absent the past few months (haven't even logged in), and I'll be honest, I never even saw that we had gotten a bot. It's great that we had one, but this community is pretty small to begin with. Hopefully the community is able to get the bot back in the sub

Welcome :) I'll try to keep it community based, but if we keep growing I'll try to get more moderators and maybe bots to get some deals automagically

I guess it totally depends on what you’re into. I listen to:
The Money Guy show - hands down the best personal finance content. American based, but the logic still applies.
Waveform Podcast: MKBHD tech podcast
Surveillance Report: Techlore privacy/security based podcast

You could always make a community here around it :)
Howdy everyone. As this community begins to get more members, I'm looking for anyone with experience with RSS capable of auto-posting from other sites (RFD, r/bapcsalescanada, etc.) so that deals can be posted frequently on here (and while they are still on). From my understanding, I can for example, use: "https://www.reddit.com/r/bapcsalescanada/.rss" to get the rss feed for r/bapcsalescanada, but I am not sure on how to get it to post in this community. Additionally, if there is something equivalent to the specs bot that is capable of posting the specs of ssds, or BapcsBotCanada that posts similar deals that have been posted recently.

Thanks for the heads up! I guess I meant using an RSS feed from somewhere else, like RFD, or the actual BAPC subreddit so it auto posts here in my community.

Honestly, I'm okay with that, in fact encourage it. I need to figure out how to do that myself.

True, I just literally copied and pasted it from r/bapcsalescanada

Amazing how low prices keep getting! Keep in mind this is a gen 3 drive, but still excellent and nothing to complain about
This is just a community meant for migrators of Reddit to come on over. I have no idea how to mod and get things going, but it would be cool if someone with some knowledge could set up an RSS-Feed or something to get some automated deals posted!

My adblocker keeps tabs of how many trackers it blocked and Reddit was always the highest culprit of trackers. This doesn't surprise me, but I do not have/use facebook, snapchat, tiktok or instagram to compare it to.

Personally, I would consider someone to be active if they log in/post a few times a week. But then if they don't log in for a month, should they be considered inactive? I'm not sure how each instance measures this, and I'm sure it varies from instance to instance.

I take good care of my chargers, and I have never had a single one break. I really only plug my device in before bed.
