One of the great things about Lemmy is that you can control your user experience. No algorithms, no "suggestions" being forced on you, no ads, no data mining, no spez/Musk/Zuck. So curate my Lemmy space heavily and enjoy the peace and quiet and slow pace. R*ddit was my only social media for years so Lemmy is similar enough to that to be familiar and useful, but different enough to be worth using.

Ah, sorry if I seemed snappy. I replied when all of my Lemmy apps were glitching and I was getting cranky.
In my experience, pigeons will ravage just about anything. They're like the goats of the bird world.
I provide a variety of foods, and spread them out so different birds can eat different things.

Well it was as laggy as the other apps, because of the update and the increase of signups. Also I found it difficult to navigate, to find the right buttons to push to access a certain thing. I know it's early days and I'm sure your app will improve in time, and I'll try it again later.

I found Summit later on, and it didn't work well for me.
I couldn't get a recording or pick out any lyrics because it was in a supermarket and there was a lot of background noise. But if you've heard the song, I think the title might be enough. It had a very sparse instrumentation, drums fairly prominent, male singer, very strong melody.

I saw that Boost will require personal and financial info, location etc. It turned me off, tbh. At least the other Lemmy apps don't do that.

Didn't change my password, just reinstalled the app and logged in. But it won't let me post, reply, check messages, reply to messages etc. So not really worth it at the moment.

A lot of improvements, but some weird problems. Jerboa finally allowed me to log in but not much else. Connect is working better, but won't allow me to reply to one particular post ("incorrect language" or something). The browser version and wefwef are slow and glitchy - my comment about birds ended up in a conversation about Lemmy apps. I don't know anything about tech stuff but I get the impression that people are working very hard to fix all the issues. And the spezidus wouldn't be making things easy. Looking forward to a bigger better Lemmy!

The only one I could find on the Play store is Liftoff. I guess the others have to be downloaded from elsewhere.

I'll be collecting food scraps for the birds that visit my yard, maybe taking a trip to take a break from where I live, some grocery shopping, and hopefully catch up on some sleep if I can.

Jerboa crashes constantly for me now, doesn't even let me view anything. JSYK!

Jerboa is almost unusable for me at the moment. A lot of crashes, pages not loading, messages not sending etc. But I know that's inevitable at times. Restarting my phone seemed to make it worse. But I know you guys are on it! 👍

At the moment I'm only doing Duolingo because I don't have time, money or energy for anything more in-depth. Duolingo doesn't have the languages I'd really really like to learn, so I make do with selections from their best constructed courses.
I've been studying Italian for 3 months. I chose Italian because before that I was learning Esperanto. But the Duolingo Esperanto course became worse for some reason, and I figured Esperanto would help me to recognise a lot of Italian. I was right!
I started Portuguese a few days ago. Always wanted to try Portuguese, but the weird pronunciations discouraged me. Eventually I just jumped in and had a go. My ear is starting to adjust to it.
And when I'm bored with those 2, I revise my German. Mainly because I like the goofy voices on the German course.
I squeeze in lessons during downtime at work, and my colleagues don't seem to like it. Oh well. They shouldn't be so tedious to talk to!
I set up this lemmy account about 10 days ago and my subscribed feed is really good, I'm having a lot of really good interactions. So I made a kbin account a few days ago and I can't seem to get it going. I've tried searching for "magazines" and I subscribed to a few of them, but I can't seem to find my groove there. Any tips would be appreciated!

The birds that visit me daily. Some of them land on me and have a proper conversation with me. Always lifts my mood.
I currently have this issue with a work colleague. I don't like her personality, I don't find her particularly attractive physically, but for some reason she makes me "hormonal". Is this a normal thing? I hate it!
Before their latest album, I was something of a casual Metallica fan. I liked a handful of their songs, and considered the rest of their songs to be recycled versions of their songs that I liked. Then St Anger happened. I thought they were maybe getting too old to keep raging like hormone-driven teenagers, maybe they should start releasing c&w albums or something. Then 72 Seasons came along and blew my tiny little mind. I'm not massively keen on every song, but (imo) there are no weak songs on this album. It has a different energy, they tried different approaches to lyrics, soloing, drumming etc, while incorporating those fresh ideas into their established sound. My personal favs off the album are Lux Æterna and Inamorata. Such great energy and great messages! My boss at work loves Inamorata so my colleagues tolerate it, but they are sick to death of Lux Æterna (I had it on repeat for a long while). So that's my Metallica story. What's yours?
On signing up, I was offered an auto generated password and stupidly didn't write it down. I also didn't provide an email address. Is there a way to change my password? I'm trying to log in to jerboa and I need access to my password to do that.
