Google sure is. Brave is a chromium-based browser - a browser that is built off of Google Chrome, so anything Google wants to put in their web browser to track you and devour your internet-soul is also in Brave and all the other “web browsers” that are just chromium skins like Edge.

From "the desk of Tim Scott": Thank you for contacting me to express your view on the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. I value your input on this subject and the opportunity to share my thoughts with you. The PRO Act, which passed the House last Congress with almost exclusively party-line Democratic support, represents the most radical and economically destructive piece of labor legislation in decades. Among dozens of other anti-worker provisions, the bill would abolish right-to-work protections across at least 27 states, including South Carolina, forcing many employees to either financially support a labor union or risk losing their jobs. It would also forcibly reclassify as many as half of all independent contractors by nationalizing California's failed "ABC test," which has wrecked opportunities across hundreds of sectors. The vast majority of Americans who engage in independent work, from freelance journalism to app-based driving, appreciate the flexibility and autonomy of their roles, which the PRO Act would eliminate. Beyond independent work, the bill would also diminish franchise small business ownership opportunities, gut the secret ballot for union elections, and force employers to hand over employees' personal information--from home addresses and personal phone numbers to hours and shifts--to union organizers, with no opportunity for workers to opt out. These policies, along with dozens of others, would result in fewer jobs, slower growth, and a weaker economy. While some of the bill's supporters claim that the PRO Act is pro-union, that argument misses the mark. South Carolina became a right-to-work state in 1954, and tens of thousands of South Carolinians are union members. That is their right. That said, the rigid union boss priorities included in the PRO Act could substantially harm our state's economy. Our state saw 27% job growth from 2001-2016, with a 10-point increase in personal income. We saw countless high-tech manufacturing job creators make South Carolina their home. However, my Democratic colleagues and President Biden want to punish those who do not want to unionize while harming our state's economy and squashing the dreams of millions of people living in right-to-work states like ours. The people, with the hundreds of thousands of jobs that will be lost, are the ones who will suffer. That is not what I call helping or protecting employees. Rest assured, I will do everything I can as your US Senator to stop this pro-union bosses, anti-economic development and anti-employee piece of legislation until we have an actual conversation with both parties on this issue. This is an excellent analysis! I just watched “The Inner Light” for the first time recently, but it has been a while since I’ve seen “Puhoy”; I’ll have to revisit it soon.
I picked up the Criterion BluRay during Barnes & Noble’s sale this summer after being aware of the film for a while. I was intrigued by the single-room story and the exploration of condemning someone as guilty, and the film totally blew me away. The acting was stellar, the writing is timeless, and the cinematography was magic the way it kept a single room visually interesting for 90 minutes. 10/10 everyone should watch it

First, I have to recommend Way of Ramen’s YouTube channel; he makes great videos, and I use several of his recipes in my Ramen.
I make WoR’s super simple Shio tare to start Ingredients:
• 450ml Water
• 70g Sea Salt
• 25ml Hon Mirin
• 7.5ml rice Vinegar
• 25ml Usukuchi shoyu
• 5g caster sugar
• 2.5g (1/2tsp) msg
Directions:
- Bring 450ml of water to a simmer
- Add salt, stir to dissolve
- Add mirin, sugar, shoyu, vinegar, 1/2tsp MSG Stir, then let cool and store
The bowl of ramen contains the following:
• 36ml Shio Tare
• 1Tbsp Chicken fat
• 400ml Hot water (or chicken stock or any good soup you have on hand)
• Pre-made noodles (look up Hakubaku or j-basket, both should be on Amazon or in your local Asian market)
• Toppings:
- Green onions
- Sautéd Red Bell pepper (skip if I’m not in the mood)
- 1/2lb. Fried chicken tenders (the stuff from Publix is magic if you’ve got one near you)
This can all be done in one day, but the tare recipe makes enough for at least a dozen bowls, so you’ll just warm it up later.

I kinda feel like Wes was the enlightened 24th century child who is validated, supported, and taken seriously by people who want him to succeed.
Except for when the writers just have the rest of the bridge crew be mean to him ("shut up, Wesley"). He makes a really good point in "Datalore" (S01E13) when telling Picard that if he was any other officer and not a teenager, his concerns about Lore impersonating Data would have been taken seriously.

Not thrilled about adult swim or “grownup” fans. If this ends up being Rick and Morty but with Adventure Time characters, then I will pass. Adults can enjoy television, even animation without hearing an f-bomb every 30 seconds and without references to sexual organs.

The documentation give clear instructions for installing and setting up a Lemmy instance, but it doesn't really tell me what I need to do so beyond the implication that I need some computer running Linux. I have a QNAP NAS device which is running a flavor of linux; how much storage space is recommended for a public instance? Do I need my own website?
Prior to the internet condensing into just 5 or so websites, what do you remember fondling about being online? I remember winning a raffle contest on the old Terraria forums and getting to pick my own title (instead of just New Member, Member, Well-Known Member). Of course, since I was like 13, I picked a random collection of letters that only I knew was an acronym of my signature on said forums.
