I just flipped through the introduction of a GIMP book that the authors hoped 3.0 would be out so they could cover it but ultimately based the book on 2.6 due to delays. It's copyright 2012, apparently something (didn't) happen.

Newsweek believes that everything is going swimmingly well for Biden without fail. Don't rely on others to keep Trump out of office for you, everything is not OK.

Would have to say very much so and ended the trend of bigger and bigger food and beverage options. I remember there being a coffee chain that was competing with Starbucks at the time that introduced a full 44oz frappucino-type drink, and convenience stores starting to introduce 52oz sodas. Seemed like the sky was the limit back then but all those super-sized options disappeared within about a year after Super Size Me.

I was playing through Xenoblade Chronicles 1's post-endgame trying to do all the quests and because I didn't know to steal a certain item from a certain enemy I now have to defeat a Lvl 120 boss that is the most powerful in the game to get one form of ultimate weapon. Not feeling like getting something like that after the fact, time to call it done and move onto the expansion.

On my RTX 3080 laptop I get a significantly lower frame rate on my laptop screen (240hz) and 4k external monitor (144hz) when using Wayland. Wayland has come a long way but I'm still going to be using X11 for at least the near future.

I am a Debian unstable user who used to use Gentoo, the reason I stopped using Gentoo is revdep-rebuild. Do not want to do another revdep-rebuild ever again.

Source? I never heard fundamentalism was coined as an alternative to saying conservative. Fundamentalism could be described as conservative but I don't think the 1920s fundamentalists were trying to avoid that in any way.

I do have to appreciate the fact that you have decided to thumb your nose at everyone and defy god by doing the exact opposite.

I have a 19" CRT monitor and a larger CRT TV for retro purposes, but I'm not too fond of using filters on modern displays, most filters look 'fake' to me.

I see conservative men getting with conservative women all the time, if they're complaining about nothing being available they need to look at themselves in the mirror or look in different places (maybe hip, urban environments aren't the best places to date for conservatives?) Switching up politics isn't some magic solution to getting laid.

Just a tiny pinch of kosher salt and a single crack of black pepper for me. Easier to over season than under season with eggs.
What is everyone's preferred cookware around here? I have usually preferred cast iron cookware for most things that don't involve acids but have recently started using carbon steel and prefer it for the lighter weight, longer handles and similar cooking properties. Enameled dutch oven for braising of course. I tried to stop using non-stick pans (Teflon and the like) but for certain egg and crepe recipes it just seems absolutely necessary. I would like to get a nice collection of multi-ply stainless steel / aluminum pans when I get the budget for it.

Might not be a popular take but having an undefendable position like creationism does not necessarily mean "poorly educated." There are apologists who have learned proper reasoning skills and use their education to bend reality as much towards their will. I think most people would consider Jesuits and the like to be very educated but also very wrong.
As far as signs that someone is poorly educated, there are people who make up "big words" to give the impression of having a better education to other poorly educated people. Which backfires when someone with an actual large vocabulary walks into the room.

I still buy some stuff off there but have been using it less, orders over $25 have free shipping, they still want you to spend money with them even if you're not paying for Prime. Walmart is faster and cheaper for certain things, especially food/pantry items but they are just as evil. I don't have a Costco membership but they have good deals online from what I can tell, wish they had a physical store in my town that would make it more worth it. If you find a vendor on Amazon that has something you like you could search for that vendor's actual website online and order directly from them.

The only attention I see him getting are from alternative medicine whackjobs that are voting for Trump anyways. He seems to have no appeal to anyone who actually votes for Democrats.

I think a lot of activist organizations have yet to realize the old way of going to the courts to get the laws thrown out might now actually be 'the old way' and may no longer be relevant. I'm scared how our Supreme Court will change things.

He has his problems but I'm particularly concerned about the "GPL2/3 or later" clauses in a lot of GPL-released software and how the absence of his leadership might compromise it. I'm sure a lot of corporations would like to see a good chunk of GPL'd software end up under an MIT-style license.

Enshittification has come to Amazon Prime too. Lots of people report that two-day shipping is flaky, Prime Video is very limited in its basic tier, the deals are a joke. If you spend more than $25 you get free shipping so what exactly are you getting with Prime besides it coming a day earlier? I dropped it and definitely don't miss it.

Not too surprising that they are relying on those tricks to get people back on it. There are no real deals on there, anything interesting to watch is always an upsell and the two-day shipping has been flaky. I canceled because I wasn't sure I was getting any value out of it anymore and it was just causing me to spend more money with them.
