Curios...why can I sign on with the Droid Lemur app, but not the Google Play?
  • krawieck krawieck Now 100%

oh, okay. i think i understand the situation now. the version on the play store is a bit older because something broke with the release pipeline :/ i will fix it but im a bit busy atm so we'll see when ill be able to do it

but the bottom line is: sorry about it not working, we'll be working on it, for now just use the F-Droid version

  • krawieck krawieck Now 100%

what instance were you trying to sign into? because i just tried it with lemmy.ml and it works. also could you also say the version of the app? (you can find it in settings->about lemmur) in general there's some stuff in the app that might not work because we haven't updated the app to work with the latest changes to the api yet. but basic stuff works, that's something that i'm sure of

edit: also wanted to note that this is not an official app, we are independently working on it as a hobby. the official android app is being worked on but idk how far are they with the project

i have to strongly disagree. they do a lot of stuff that would be regarded as evil: making their devices as hard to repair as possible, fucking over independent developers, pushing their subscriptions inside of iOS ("get Apple Arcade/Music/TV Free for 3 Months!" with hopes that you forget about them charging your card). the bottom line is that privacy (or rather the perception of privacy) is their brand so they have to do things that reinforce it in minds of their users.

not right now, but we could add an option to hide read posts (not on individual level but on the level of the whole list). since API provides that information i think it would be fairly easy to implement.

  • krawieck krawieck Now 100%

i'm not really a great source for this since i have yet to learn it, but i got hyped up when i saw this talk about elm, tho i should warn you that there is some sussy stuff going on with elm now. i read that the creator of elm removed the ability to call to JS for anyone but himself and removed ability for users to define custom operators. i personally, while still am interested in elm, will also take a look at PureScript which seems to be elm's most popular competitor

![lemmur logo](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LemmurOrg/lemmur/master/assets/readme_icon.svg) Lemmur is a mobile lemmy client that I and [@shilangyu](https://github.com/shilangyu) have been working on for quite some time. It's supposed to give you seamless experience when using multiple instances. It's available for android, windows and linux, although it is mainly targeted towards mobile devices. The experience on other platforms might be less satisfactory. This is only an alpha release so not everything will be working, there are some parts of the app that aren't finished. But we believe it is usable _enough_ for people to browse their favorite instances. At the moment we would prefer to focus on fixing bugs rather than implementing arbitrary features so if you have any bugs or crashes please let us know in the comments or [create an issue on github](https://github.com/krawieck/lemmur/issues/new/choose). Screen recordings are welcome (github now supports uploading `.mp4` and `.mov` files), it's always easier to understand the problem through visuals rather than words only. If you'd like to see a version for iOS on the apple app store or just generally would like to support the development you can chip in over on [patron](https://www.patreon.com/lemmur) or [buymeacoffee](https://www.buymeacoffee.com/lemmur), which will help cover the $99 developer license. Here are some screenshots of the app: https://imgur.com/a/B5XhhXQ
