That's really cool to see. I have a GCP and I haven't yet modified it, but I'm tempted to do this. I've cross-posted to /c/ece@lemmy.world :)
cross-posted from: https://discuss.tchncs.de/post/179956 > To get more into espresso i finally got a used gaggia classic and upgraded it with a replacement controller running the open source [gaggiuino](gaggiuino.github.io/) project. > > Fully with loadcell scales, pressure sensor, pid temperature control and a hand soldered [all in one pcb](https://github.com/banoz/CoffeeHat/tree/main/Hardware/GaggiaBoard_V3). > > You can also use standard arduino style modules for most components but the pcb makes it much more compact and reliable. > > In this case the modifications are fully reversible in case a future owner wants to revert it back to stock. > > Works great and automates a lot of steps to be more consistent. Now i just need to practice the manual parts of making espresso ;) > > Note: this is not my project, i just documented the build process on my machine. > Maybe it helps someone to get an overview what goes into such a conversion and inspires more users to attempt it. > > The community is already pretty big and many also adapted the project for other machines. > > > > *Seems like the post was synchronized only after editing multiple times

I haven't had Stumptown beans in forever, but they're great. I've had Hair Bender & Founder's Blend, both of which I would recommend. I haven't tried Homestead yet. Do you adjust the temperature of the water at all when dialing in lighter roasts? I've heard higher temps can lead to better extraction for those.
Probably my favorite performance of the latter song, but I also appreciate this for the combination of both. Seeing The Fragile vinyl encouraged me to search for this again.

Awesome! I love this album. What are your favorites on there? I have "The Way Out is Through" and "Just Like You Imagined" on repeat a bit too often...
Is it possible to have a relative link on Lemmy for posts and comments? I've been able to link to local communities with the `/c/community@lemmy.world` notation, but when I look at the same post on two different instances, the ID in the URL is different, so I'm not sure how to link a relative path to a post (or to a comment).

Yes! How'd you make the lady fingers? I had used this recipe in the past, the hardest part (after getting that desired texture of the meringue) was piping the mixture onto the baking sheet. Getting them consistent was difficult. I might have to get a mold for next time.
Made this cake today using a recipe from Addicted to Dates. Ended up using animal crackers for the crust since I couldn’t find honey-free graham crackers nor digestive biscuits. Came out great though!

I had been thinking of making a shittyveganfoodporn community, but haven't had any good shitty vegan food porn to post... also probably don't have time to moderate it. But I'm working on a vegan tiramisu cheesecake (from Addicted to Dates) as we speak, so I'll have some regular vegan food porn to post.

Looks fun! Who’s going to post the first BGA rework video? Haha

Took me a bit but from this post I realized you have to search for the community with the full name, i.e. !ece@lemmy.world
, in the "Communities" tab in the instance you're in. Looks like I'm able to access it from your instance now: https://reddthat.com/c/ece@lemmy.world

Eagle was the first piece of ECAD software for PCBs I used. I remember using the free version that limited my workspace to 4" square or so. Good times. Wish I had found KiCAD first though.

Agreed, Anker cables have held up for me for years.

I've enjoyed my 1Zpresso K-Max, although in retrospect getting the blind shaker design in the magnetic catch cup of the K-Plus would have been nice. The external adjustment with detents was a selling point for me, despite it having a slightly coarser adjustment than comparably-priced manual grinders.

I love them too. There are also videos for Something I Can Never Have and The Becoming that Rob uploaded from this period. You may have seen these already, but they are worth linking.

Looks nice! For what it's worth, the "expand here" option worked on my end with Firefox.
For those uninitiated and those interested in Smith Charts, check out this video from w2aew. I recommend his channel for all things RF related.
Calling all electrical and computer engineers, students, and hobbyists interested in the subject. Do you have burning questions about the field (and sub-fields)? Do you have a schematic or layout you'd like the community to review? Did you let the magic smoke out? You did, didn't you? That's all fine. Oh that's good to know. I haven't experimented much with decaf, but I should give it a shot.

Those B&W coffees look great. I'm eyeing their Esteban Madrid, and about to go into the rabbit hole of coffee bean processing...

I've been meaning to get that book. I've enjoyed Vegan Richa's Instant Pot Cookbook. Also, not a cookbook, but I love the recipes from Addicted to Dates -- the tiramisu is amazing.
Thought it could be fun to get a thread going on what beans we're currently using, maybe with some pertinent details on the brew variables if you feel inclined to share. This past week I've been using Portrait Coffee's Toni, a medium-roast single-origin from Brazil, roasted in Atlanta. I've been really pleased with the taste of my pulls with a 1:2 ratio. Great chocolatey notes, which is what I typically seek.
One of my favorite performances, the wind moving the curtains and the ambiance makes me feel like I'm transported there. Rob's YouTube channel has a ton of great NIN videos.

It's niche political drama, and it doesn't really affect the development of Lemmy.

I've had Ripple brand pea milk with drip coffee and it was okay, I can see how the taste might be off-putting for some people though. For espresso I will pretty much stick to oat milk (Oatly Barista, Califia Farms).
Welcome to the electrical and computer engineering community. Whether you're a hobbyist, student, or professional, we appreciate your questions, answers, and other contributions to this community.

Yeah, local subreddit and former college subreddit. Fun community, I'm sure something will be formed on Lemmy as well.
