I skimmed through this and there's not a single thing here I care about.

Did they ever release official DVDs for S01? I couldn't find any and ended up with the FYC DVDs instead.

Not to say that Disney hasn't mishandled this IP, but Star Wars had bad content before Disney bought it, and has since released projects better than anything Lucasfilm did with it.
The wide variances in quality aren't doing the reputation of Star Wars any favors.

It boggles my mind that people rely on Netflix for anything except disappointment. Over the past two years the only things I've watched on there have been like Leave The World Behind, Arcane, Wednesday, Glass Onion, The Gray Man, and Red Notice. I don't care about Wednesday so once Arcane is over I'll only ever use it for their cheesy action movies.

That's completely unfair. There was really good stuff in the first act, the writers played into the tension between the three Marvels quite well. Everything after that was boring and by-the-book, but it wasn't bad.

Honestly, I don't necessarily mind either of these things, although maybe it'd be different if I had more time to watch TV.
Most of my favorite shows have actually been shorter, ever since I started watching TV more seriously in around 2018 or so. Mr. Robot, Succession, Better Things, Atlanta...these shows thrived on short seasons. I like a few shows that have longer seasons too, like 24, Lethal Weapon, Whiskey Cavalier, 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star, but I think budgets get stretched so thin nowadays that you notice a real dip in quality in those longer seasons. 9-1-1 fans won't admit this but a lot of the past two seasons have been a trainwreck, and I've sometimes wished that the seasons were actually shorter, with tighter narratives.

Why are they doing this instead of more seasons?

Ah, I grew up listening to Adventures In Odyssey and one character said that all the time. Beautiful word.

It's weird that they don't want to call them channels. They mention that in the article. Maybe it's because that would force them to pay more royalties to the folks in each show and movie that gets aired.

I mean some sort of live component is the way to go, IMHO, but I think in the end it'd looks something like ESPN+, where instead of channels, new episodes premiere with their own livestream and they are treated like events. That way the entire fanbase/audience experiences the show together at the same time, similar to how it used to work with TV.

I think the goal would be to get rid of Alex Jones' show. IDK the legal details but it's possible that copyright issues could keep Alex Jones from spinning up a copycat show without having his contract with the company formally severed. I'm also guessing whoever owns the company would have the power to sever the connections to whatever terrestrial radio stations still carry his program.

I don't remember that. Maybe they did and others forgot too.

People want Elon Musk to buy it but I think having someone already in the media space purchasing it would make more sense. Could be the Tucker Carlson Network, some random rich right winger as the article implies, or a consortium of various organizations and figures like Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk, heck maybe even the people who created Tenet Media lol
