Microsoft starts testing ads in the Windows 11 Start menu

Isn't it obvious? Start Menu is being used by every windows user but is not generating any revenue Serving ads will enable them to better support the platform and provide more advanced features. Ad supported version is better than making it a subscription like some third party apps have done. Start8 I think, basic copy of Microsoft's Start Menu but paid.

This is not a triple A game actually. Ubisoft CEO referred it as a four A. AAAA.

Yeah. Google was using XMPP but development focus was for Google Chat only. The rest of the community played catch up while Google chat got new features quickly. If you were using some other software, chat would simply break and crash.

Scalpers will find a way. Only normal buyers will be hurt by this move. Also car companies are putting in more and more proprietary stuff that only they can repair practically, and charge a fortune for it. Tesla is leading in that too afaik.

Hence, efforts by Twitter that portray it as an FIR filed at the behest of the Government of India is wholly and completely incorrect. Twitter declared that the toolkit was ‘Manipulated Media’, this clearly shows that it was acquainted with the facts of the case & had material information relevant to the probe. Hence, Twitter was asked to join the inquiry to provide the information it possesses”

Generally I open the notifications and if I’ve to reply I do it from there only. Then I open something else. Notification count doesn’t go away automatically and ‘mark all as read’ has to be clicked. It’d be nice if the notification count disappears after the user open them once.

Hello everyone, new user here. I'm liking the site so far, specially the technology communities. One thing I noticed that there are far too many communities for a significantly low user base website. There are 1075 Communities as the right sidebar shows. I feel most of them are created to park community names only not for purpose of any discussion. IMO is not good to have so many communities at very early stage, restricting community creation till the userbase of the site has achieved an arbitrary number big enough to sustain such large number of communities is better.
