Great job to everyone in the UK who helped educate others. This movement isn't thanks to the media.

Yes agreed.
I think I know where you're confused. Here's the original claim that begat this thread,
It’s not controversial to say that the US / NATO helped trigger the war in Ukraine.
The claim is about an opinion being generally accepted. To confirm or refute the claim requires secondary sources, since the claim is about opinions.
If the claim were simply,
US / NATO helped trigger the war in Ukraine.
Then the claim is concerned directly with what triggered the war in Ukraine. To confirm or refute the claim, you'd benefit more from primary sources (including journalism, as you mentioned.)

I have to agree that completely ignoring the nytimes op-ed section is healthy and brings you closer to the truth. I'm glad we've established that.

I'm considering stock pixel 9, but I was wondering if anyone had specific critiques of Gemini's privacy. I use LLM bots frequently, but am a bit hesitant to let one take over my phone.
it's completely natural and healthy to ask something from a political candidate before you support them. Your feelings are valid and you are loved 💗 One example is, "stop murdering toddlers."

["I Ain't Reading All That; Free Palestine"](https://www.caitlinjohnst.one/p/i-aint-reading-all-that-free-palestine) > The meme enrages Israel supporters because Israel apologia depends on mountains of verbiage to spin obvious atrocities as reasonable and appropriate. At some point the kids noticed this was happening, and started dismissing all the narratives. > ...Without mountains of narrative, all you’ve got is a nonstop deluge of raw video footage depicting the blatant genocidal criminality of Israel. No narrative overlay is required atop a video of a baby beheaded by Israeli military explosives. It stands on its own. You’d only need narrative to explain why the footage of the headless baby doesn’t say bad things about the side that’s dropping the bombs. > ..Manipulators understand that they can use narrative to promote material agendas if they can get people to believe those narratives, and it enrages them when people handwave away the narrative and stick solely with the raw data of material reality. If you’ve based your life around trading empty narrative fluff for real material resources and gains, having your narratives dismissed can feel like holding a huge pile of currency that suddenly got devalued to zero. Of course the manipulators would be upset about this.
How can I see totals per up and down vote in sync? Right now it combines them.
I'm not sure how lemmy handles bots, but I do miss leaving tips
I have a lemmy-ui instance working correctly, fresh ansible install. I haven't configured it yet, but it's up and running and test posts work fine. I'm mostly interested in lemmyBB, so I installed that according to "Alongside existing Lemmy instance (native)" install instructions. Everything seems to work fine during install, ```systemctl status lemmy_bb.service``` shows: ``` Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket::launch_] (FileServer: assets) GET /assets/<path..> [10] Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket::launch] 📡 Fairings: Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket::launch_] Templating (ignite, liftoff) Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket::launch_] Shield (liftoff, response, singleton) Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket::launch_] Site data fetcher (request) Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket::shield::shield] 🛡️ Shield: Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket_dyn_templates::fairing] 📐 Templating: Jan 17 06:51:57 vps-f7b29755 lemmy_bb[484]: [2023-01-17T06:51:57Z INFO rocket::launch] 🚀 Rocket has launched from http://127.0.0.1:8703 ``` When checking in with a browser, I get 502 Bad Gateway. error.log ``` 2023/01/17 07:05:13 [error] 528#528: *33 connect() failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream, client: 205.178.101.86, server: forums.domain.com, request: "GET / HTTP/2.0"$2023/01/17 07:05:13 [error] 528#528: *33 connect() failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream, client: 205.178.101.86, server: forums.domain.com, request: "GET /favicon.ic$2023/01/17 07:05:32 [error] 528#528: *50 connect() failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream, client: 205.178.101.86, server: forums.domain.com, request: "GET / HTTP/2.0"$2023/01/17 07:05:32 [error] 528#528: *50 connect() failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream, client: 205.178.101.86, server: forums.domain.com, request: "GET /favicon.ic$ ```
I'd like to restart an old community with fedibb. The throwback phpbb UI is irresistible!😳 In addition to our own local forums, is it possible to include a couple forums from https://fedibb.ml/ such as "Music" and "Video Games" on the homepage and have my users interact?
