for me and my partner we were in different departments so even if it went to shit we would have been able to easily ignore each other
so maybe best general advice is make sure you aren't working in close proximity or direct collaboration. but at my company there are some really gross abuses at the upper management levels with married couples with supervisory roles over each other. i wonder if they let it happen because it makes them look "dedicated". like "you'll basically live at work anyways so might as well marry each other"

someone i know's mom was slinging her excess pain medication for cash and then had to cut the person off that she was selling it to (because her doctor retired and her medication was massively cut down). that person then reported her as revenge. she did six months in jail and then was cut off from benefits for a long time. even after becoming totally disabled (like unable to walk).

i've talked to left and right wingers in person about this and most seem to agree with this concept or contributed to it. at the vaguest level it's perceived as two groups, the neoliberals/neocons and the populists. the populists have a left (berniecrat, demsoc) and right (trumpian, nazbol-lite) wing. the neos are all the old guard repubs (mitch) and centrist/corporatecrats. at their most basic understanding of this they believe the populists are trying to help the people while the neos only care about the markets. obviously this struggle is being heavily catalyzed by the 2k checks.
