So....I own a .com domain that's really, really good as far as being lemmy-related (it has lemmy in the name).
Not exactly a s self-hosted question, and I'm an old geek so I can arrange hosting and set things up myself when I have time, but anyone have a guess as to my traffic costs if I decide to turn it into a federated lemmy instance and open it up to the public? Just looking for thoughts and opinions.

...from my mother.

Here in Canada we just double it and add 30, because it's close enough generally.

I just deleted my 12 year old account and removed by bookmark for Reddit. My current main account will be deleted soon.

I stole my friend Andy's plane, flew it and crashed it into the forest. I survived and hiked out, and he was extremely angry.
In real life, Andy doesn't have a plane, and I don't know how to pilot one.

Don't forget the hidden cams. That's part of why we don't use AirBNB.

While Mike Rowe is kind of a piece of shit, he did say one right thing: "Stop looking for the “right” career, and start looking for a job. Any job. Forget about what you like. Focus on what’s available. Get yourself hired. Show up early. Stay late. Volunteer for the scut work. Become indispensable. You can always quit later, and be no worse off than you are today. But don’t waste another year looking for a career that doesn’t exist."
There is no perfect job. There are jobs you make perfect for you. If the job you are in prevents that, you move on. Never wait too long for a promotion, as you can promote yourself by having the strength and will to find that promotion at a different company.

I guess I should have created a resignation letter when I abandoned /r/skin.
The app on android was fine for a while, but the past few days it keeps logging me out and then my account is no longer saved. If I enter my account info it appear to have me logged in for a refresh or two, but then I can't get to my profile and then I show up as Anonymous again. Should I remove and reinstall?
We just moved from a very rural area to a large city and am surprised at all the food delivery/rent-a-bike-or-scooter/ride-share/car-share/random delivery/etc. apps and services that are available. What do you find you get the most use of and most value for money?
On Reddit, they are loved by conspiracy theorists. I'm not sure if we'd want to continue that here.
From (that other site) I'd often find funny pictures or memes and send them to family. Right now I can send links to Lemmy posts, but that's just not going to work with my family's level of technical ability. Is there another way I should request this?
