Is it a good thing if there are identical communities on different instances?

I don't think so. I mean, even if an instance with an important community has a problem (e.g. goes offline) we can simply create that community on another instance, but as long as there are no problems I think it's better to have just one community.

  • What open source keyboard alternative you suggest instead of gBoard on Android?

You would probably get used to FlorisBoard after a bit of time if you try it. I was used to SwiftKey but I didn't like it because it doesn't have a good history, like suggesting private email addresses to other users, and it's for Microsoft. But now I'm typing this using FlorisBoard.

Can confirm this. I tried with bing. Same result. That was why it wasn't working, because of bing. Thanks! I'll probably to switch to something else now.

Thank you for the recommendation. I tried SearXNG once. It was good, except it had some problems with some languages. I'll try SearXNG again. Perhaps this issue has been fixed.

Searching "PeerTube" doesn't return any results. peertube (all lower case) doesn't return anything either. What's funny is that "pertube" returns the correct results for "PeerTube". It seems like it works like this: If the IP requesting the search is from my country and it's searching PeerTube or peertube it's going to block the search. But why should it?! PeerTube isn't blocked here. YouTube is though.

  • Even more strange is that when I type "PeerTube", some suggestions appear, but searching any of them will end up back on the "no results found" page. The suggestions: ![](https://vlemmy.net/pictrs/image/21c0f286-653a-4612-a5a2-c014e3ede12d.jpeg) Searching one of them: ![](https://vlemmy.net/pictrs/image/fb8ea646-7dbc-4bfd-b8e0-295392e0f1c1.jpeg) It has been a few weeks since I first encountered this issue. I've tried again and again, but it never worked.
