It is from what I've read and interpreted, all Luffy does is just give the locals a fighting chance to save their country. Most of the time, the problem isn't that a king exists but that some foreign entity like a pirate group, marines, world government is trying to take over an already vulnerable country.
The time when it actually is a bad king the kingdom becomes an electoral democracy run by the people headed by the those who fought for the freedom of the country. Oda makes sure that the people themselves have agency in liberating themselves and it isn't some one sided savior complex. Even in arcs where it seems like the straw hats are doing everything Oda still manages to tie it to the people of the island.

Oda is also pretty lazy on skin tones and doesn't want to spend the time doing them completely. It's where Usopp and Blackbeard seem whitewashed in some official colored material even though they are supposed to have dark skin. Robin also suffered from this and the Toei anime adaptation just made her tan for the 1st half of the show which was later abruptly rectified in the second half of the show.

It doesn't undermine it at all. It's hard to answer this question without spoiling the entire series but I can just say that there is no choice of government within the OP world that isn't a monarchy since the world is controlled by an empire which calls itself the "world government." That's to say, It's not a coincidence that Luffy and co. keep stumbling into monarchies and leave them as monarchies. There is a world police force called the marines that enforces this social order and each "kingdom" (which are really just colonies) has to pay a tribute to the world government to simply exist.
The WG doesn't recognize governments that are not monarchies or at the very least doesn't protect them. The majority of the world is dependent on the WG's military force of marines and intelligence agencies for protection from pirates. Those pirates were created from the conditions of enforced poverty and servitude that the WG set (the lumpenproletariat) while the working class inhabitants of the world have their labor value taken from them by the WG in the form of tributes. In exchange, the monarchs of these countries live lavish lives (nowhere near the level of the WG) and have slight autonomy in how their affairs are handled.
There exists a revolutionary army that wants to destroy the WG which would upend the entire social order that has been constant for centuries. Luffy is not part of that army since he's a pirate, therefore he doesn't do any organizing in these islands since that's not his goal/role.
EDIT: In an interesting sense, pirates must exist in order for the marines to justify their control. It's only when these pirates grow too powerful and amass territory that is independent of government control that they are considered threats which then justifies the hyper-militarization of the marines which continues the cycle until it reaches a breaking point and a revolution occurs like we have in the current narrative of OP.

Elysium's RPG element of probability based skill checks ruined the game for me because at the second half of the game it felt like I was just grinding for skill checks rather than enjoying the story. Maybe its a skill issue, but I didn't want to play Elsyium for its RPG mechanics.
If you removed the CRPG aspect of it you basically get a 3D visual novel/point and click detective adventure which feels a whole lot better than save scumming bazinga skill points and level up stats. Thoughts were cool though.
Edit: Also the Windows version of the game had a horrid load time issue between level areas at least on my hardware. The proton Linux version had no such issue.

Linux Mint 22 BETA is out based on the most recent Ubuntu LTS 24.04. Important Changes: - Linux Mint currently ships with the Linux 6.8 kernel. More importantly, Mint will now follow Ubuntu's Hardware Enablement (HWE) kernel series so Mint can work on the latest machines. This also removes the confusion of the "Edge ISO" as this affects all Mint 22 users. - Linux Mint uses Pipewire as its audio stack. - The Linux Mint team along with other communities in the "we forked off of GNOME when it became GNOME 3" have started the Xapp project which plans to continue GTK desktop app development sans libadwaita and GNOME specific technologies. - Mint now uses Matrix for community coordination and includes the Element webapp client preinstalled. - Cinnamon 6.2 and various UX improvements.  --- Windows 10 goes End of Life in October 2025.

Despite just starting out as a way for  to mingle in chatrooms and VoIP rooms, Discord has now expanded to any sort of purpose, even extending to schools where students will use Discord for clubs as well as online projects where communication is done over the platform. The reliance on Discord is dangerous. Any thing you type or do in this program is recorded for the highest bidder (that be your government or private data brokers). The interface and UX is designed to keep you in the app for as long as possible. There's no way to "smartly" or "responsibly" use Discord. One way or another, Discord will extract value from you. It's not just about you, but about everyone who uses the platform. # Solutions There are no "alternatives" to Discord. I'm not going to try to fool you by saying there's a magic bullet to defeat Discord's presence in western society (other than socialism and ). But that doesn't mean there aren't ways to help. - [Matrix](https://matrix.org/): A decentralized messaging protocol. It supports video conferencing on its main instance as well as support for the Discord "Server" functionality. Easiest solution for a drop-in replacement. - [IRC](https://libera.chat/): The one that came before Discord, community networks can be used if you need to communicate and is just as secure as Discord (public chat rooms with zero end-to-end encryption besides TLS) - [GNU Jami](https://jami.net/): If there was a magic bullet, this would be it. Completely decentralized, peer-to-peer messaging network that is *device based*. It is a GNU package, possibly the most guarantee for freedom you can get in this world. The team is small, but if you need somewhere to host your leftist activities that will require more than a court order (or a simple bribe) to de-anonymize by state and non-state (those funded by other states) actors then this is it. # Conclusion This is a post for self crit. If the service is free of charge, then you're the product. Any leftist should take steps to eliminate their dependency on Discord and proprietary messaging programs. Also any leftist should spread this message and inform others about the risks of using proprietary software. We should also take Discord as a lesson in how to identify the dangers of proprietary programs and why it could make us vulnerable to abuse (which as we know in a capitalist society, is coming one way or the other). Discord isn't the lone offender, but an example of how nonfree software will always pose a threat to a free and democratic society and only benefits the bourgeoisie.
