Don't even pay attention to downvotes, they don't really do anything unlike reddit

I mean weight is a huge issue too just due to safety. I drove my buddies model Y recently and it felt extremely nimble, probably due to the center of gravity being so good thanks to the batteries
But you can still feel how heavy the vehicle is and I imagine crashing into one would fucking hurt. I mean my GMC Sierra is lighter, it's absurd really

Yeah I get it
But what im trying to say is that you can get an EV for like 20k cad, but charging requires home ownership (1.1m average in this shithole country)

Lemmy user base will not understand your comment but yes, I will miss the roar of an engine in the future, and the ability to feel the road through the steering wheel. EVs are simply not fun nor interesting even though I can't deny they are 'better'
At least you can get rwd EVs I guess

The barrier in my Canadian city isn't even purchase price, it's that I cannot charge at my apartment

After you touch a certain amount of grass it becomes obvious how much loss of biodiversity we've had on earth in the last 10 years and it's equally depressing as concrete city life
There are pretty much no animals or bugs anymore

World class public transit? Lol you can hardly get from the airport to Reykjavik, you absolutely need a rental car if you want to enjoy Iceland
Iceland is actually one of the most car dependant countries in the entire world

Well throwing money isn't the right method, that's what we do now

We gave the kamloops band 11 million 3 years ago to investigate the mass graves and the tribe leader seems to have stolen 8m of it and progress hasn't even started
Like our government, they are rampant with corruption too and that is what is preventing progress

In Canada we throw lots of money at them and it doesn't really solve anything either unfortunately

Alexi laiho but I never became a rockstar you can probably tell
I feel like we skipped over the 'truth' bit in Truth and Reconcilliation here.
On my pixel 6, I don't know what update changed this, but you have to tap the music symbol on the lock screen to get it to ID a song. I want it to listen all the time like it used to so I can no-hassle scrobble vinyl to last.fm. Any ideas?
Been collecting records for years but never owned a turntable (lol) Wondering if it's a better bet to buy a brand new turntable, or a vintage turntable? I like the idea of buying a vintage made in Japan turntable but not sure if there is actually a difference in terms of technology. Also, I am interested in ripping some records I have, can any turntable do this? I have a focusrite audio interface already. Recommendations appreciated. My headphones are AKG K7XX but likely I would be using the turntable with my inexpensive powered Edifer bookshelf speakers.
It's for a 2007 gmc sierra if you have a GM specific recommendation. I tried a couple random apps but they don't seem to find the "service airbag" error on my dash. Bonus points if FOSS but I also have 13 dollars credit on play store.
I would consider myself a good driver on the right side of the road but I am wondering if visiting Ireland and renting a car is for me. Also how do you feel about driving manual transmission when not used to churning gears with the usual hand?
Gotta be one of the most fucked up news articles I have seen recently. If this doesn't illustrate how bad things are here I don't know what does.
Admittedly I don't treat them too well, I roll over them with my computer chair sometimes. Play with them outside across the grass. Etc. I buy cheap cables though. Can anyone recommend particularly durable guitar cables?
