One of my incredibly nerdy things I've noticed is that the Nintendo ad they run behind home plate for the Mariners home games has a render of Mario with a bat from Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii, which released in 2008
As much time passed from that render being made to Ichiro's retirement in 2019 than there was from his rookie year in the MLB in 2001 to him being traded to the Yankees in 2012
